Cost of DJ at reception

Ok - so I'm new to the boards, as well as new to wedding planning! My wedding is this coming November so I've begun to look at DJ websites and start to get an idea of costs. I am overwhelmed by the costs I've gotten so far! My brother and his wife used Andy Booth in 2009 for their wedding, so I really like him based on that. And he still sounds fabulous. But he's twice as much as I anticipated. I've gotten two quotes so far, $2,000 and $1,200. Does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts.... can I find a DJ for less than $1,000 or am I just wishful thinking?

Try BPM Deejays. They are less then $1,000.

Premium Soundz DJ- I think she is around $600
Greg McAtee is 600-700 depending how many hours

My recommendation is going to be to stay away from the Top name DJ's the are so expensive!

Andy Hutelmyer is under $800. That's who we are using and we've seen him in action. Not cheesy, but plays music to keep people on the dance floor.

Ive seen a few from around 500-700. Premium Soundz DJ and DJ Chuck Webb are two.
