      Thanks, ladies.

I recorded it on my phone during our last visit.  I have been trying to convert the file for over a week.  I listen to it several times a day.  It is even my ringtone for DH.

26 days until we know if we are having a boy or a girl!

Kat, our kid will definitely be a soccer player regardless of sex.  My little bro is likely going pro in a year.

Button, true.  It must be hard to live in fear of someone who plays baby heartbeats constantly and has two pups currently cuddling on the couch with her.

I know it's all a ploy, there's some kind of weapon hiding behind the pups & the heartbeat is to cover the sounds of their screams.

The pups are really attack dogs.  Our mailman must think so.  Zoe sounds more like a rottie than a designer lab mutt.  Klaus still sounds like a shrieking pup, but he is going to be ferocious.

No brothers (minus a step-brother who is married to a crazy chick!)
She is amazing.  I love her.  It is strange but I click more with her than my own mom.  I cannot wait to go and relax all day.

While the women are at the spa, the men are building a fence at SIL and BIL's house.  I think we are getting the good end of that deal.

  • edited December 2011
Men thrive on doing many things like fence building! It's what they live for.

    Isn't it?

Huh. Is something in me broken? Did I get different wiring? 'Cause... yay for Mutley but uh... didn't really do anything for me. I'm not being a jerk. I honestly wonder sometimes - why do I not react like other women do to that stuff?
  • edited December 2011
I think it's not something EVERY woman feels something for. It's not your baby, so it's understandable.

I didn't feel anything until the kick. Just because I knew that was a kick, and I was listening for it, and then THERE IT WAS! A tiny person, heart beating and little feet kicking.

Then the heartbeat kinda grew on me and I just loved that little person for simply existing.

I dunno, I still think pregnancy is a miracle and Mutley is incredibly lucky to be experiencing it. But, some people just don't get it.... maybe never, or maybe not until they experience it themselves.

I have a cousin who thinks pregnancy is weird and gross and never wants to have kids. But she adores her niece like you wouldn't believe (and is trying to adopt her since the mom was deemed unfit in court.... but that's another story). Unborn babies just aren't her thing. She prefers ones that can hold their own head up.

Paint, nothing in you is broken.  I didn't cry when I saw our first ultrasound.  One of my friends couldn't believe it because I am a crier.  I told her that it just looked like a blob.  In fact, I called our baby 'the blob' for a good while.  Neither DH, nor I shed a tear when we saw the heartbeat the first time.  It was more amazing to me from a scientific standpoint.  However, the longer I have been pregnant the more sappy I have become.  This last time was the first time it truly sunk in that we are having a baby in 5 months.  And now, I am sappy.

I am also a person who doesn't think that all infants are cute.  I am scared of having an ugly baby and having to listen to people say "Oh, she's soo... cute."  I definitely do not think that most newborns look good.  They are wrinkley and red.

But now that this is our baby, I am a big mushpot.  I know that I am going to think that MY newborn is the most beautiful newborn ever.  (And I do not expect anyone else to think that.)

I'm an extremely sappy person but I agree, most newborns are pretty ugly. Luckily, after a couple weeks they look like cute babies!

To me- I love babies but I agree, most newborns look like old men to me. They're all red and cranky looking.

That was too cute. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm glad I can live through you for the time being since I'm really trying not to get the baby bug, esp when FSIL is due any day with my Nephew.
