Whats the budget you are trying to stay within? What is inexpensive to you may be expensive to another? How many guest? Provide a little more details and I can probably refer to some spots. Also, feel free to look at the very first post on this board...it list the location all the LA brides are getting married at.

Malibu Nature Preserve is beautiful. I was thinking of checking them out myself but have decided to stick with the Santa Barbara region. Since the Nature Preserve is a park, the fees to reserve the space is tax deductible I believe.

I looked at the Malibu Nature Preserve when we were planning our wedding. It was the venue that I was SO sure I would want from seeing the pictures online. In person, it was rundown, cramped, and over priced. Also, depending on what time of year you are having an event there it can get VERY overcast. The beautiful grassy area shown in pictures is a really small section next to the main road.

There's a nicer area on the property but you have to climb a pretty steep hill to get to it which may not be the best for some guests. You have to use their caterer, and they have very strict alcohol regulations.
