Flower allergies...

I LOVE the look of calla lilies and orchids, but I'm worried that the smells might be too much for me. I'm not sure I want to go with silk flowers. Is there a way to make them less likely to set off my allergies?

You should speak with a florist and see what options they can provide.

I agree, speak with the florist. They can usually take out the pistil. In my experience orchids and calla lilies don't really give off a strong scent or anything. If your allergies are just mild a Zyrtec should do it.

I've never found callas or orchids to be very aromatic or irritating.  If you have severe allergies, you might consider doing artificial flowers.

If they are mild allergies, I agree with the pp, that taking a non-drowsy otc med like Zyrtec or Claritin should help keep you from getting the sniffles or itchy eyes.  Then just limit how much time you are actually holding your bouquet.  The walk down the aisle, then hand it to the MOH to hold for you for part of the ceremony, recessional, and some pictures.
