how many extra invites

I have to order 120 invitations for the amount of people I plan to have. I am unsure of how many extra I should order. I have heard that you should order 10% more than you need, but I can only order in 25s. Should I order 125 & take the chance or should I order 150 just to be on the safe side?

    I would order 150.  In all the DIY projects I've been doing, it's a major momentum killer to have to wait for extra supplies, and in my final push to get out invitations, it was a huge help to just be able to grab my extras when I screw up (and I screwed up a lot, especially with the envelopes).  Plus, it will likely save you money to include the extra 25 on this order than to place them as a separate order later on.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    Are you doing anything with the invites other than putting them in the envelopes?  If not, can you just order extra envelopes instead of the whole invite?

    I thought we only needed 87 invitations. Well, we ordered 100. After getting them in and finalizing the guest list, we tweaked it to maximize and use all 100 invites. WELL, then we realized we had 10 family members on my Dad's side that we'd forgotten about... well, we couldn't get more made for less than $400 from the company we got it for the first time. We had to get a similar design created at another design company for 10 invites for $100. :(

    Sooo, moral of the story is order extras, you'll never know what's going to happen. UNLESS, you are absolutely positive about your number, then I just say order extra envelopes.
