Menu Question

Hi -

We just had our tasting with out caterer and weren't impressed by their beef dishes. We are thinking about just serving a chicken dish we both really liked. Is it okay to do just a chicken dish and not give people a choice? Obviously for vegetarians there will be a different meal but for the general public do people like chicken? Our wedding is i December so I'm not sure if the time of year plays a part in this!

I think it's fine to just do chicken.  Who is your caterer?

Absolutely! This is fine. I had the same struggle, only with fish. We are doing a beef/fish combo and I was afraid to serve fish over chicken. I just did not want chicken-I was a little burnt out on it. I think serving chicken only is completely fine. I have only met one person in my life who wont eat chicken, my grandma. So, point being, you are serving something that 99.999999% of your guest will  prob eat. Its not like you are going with an exotic animal for them to try.
And remember, in the end, this is YOUR wedding. You can;t please everyone, and if you try, you will just end up stressed and unhappy- trust me from experience.
There are plenty of weddings I have been to with only one entree option. Good Luck!

We did only chicken at our reception! Of course there was an alternative dish for vegetarians, but the main dish that everyone got was the same - chicken!

Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like we aren't crazy to go with only chicken. We are holding our reception at the Manor House in Mason. Good luck to everyone!

The Filet at the Manor House is incredible. Heard rave reviews from people about it. Everyone said it was some of the best wedding food they'd had.
