What a Great Idea! (Royal Wedding related)

The Guardian newspaper in the UK has a button on their website for "Republicans" which makes all the Royal wedding news disappear, and the button to go back is for "Royalists".

    hahahaha! Love it!

It was a beautiful wedding. On TLC right now they're replaying it, and they're about to kiss.

It is! I watched it on Youtube like 4 hours ago...stupid TLC was too excited that they were the first to get a shot of the planes...they didn't even confess to there being a second kiss and them missing it. Like they thought we'd never know...

[QUOTE]I said I wasn't going to watch anything about it, but I caught some highlights on the news this morning. My thoughts: - I'm glad I will never be in a situation that I have to marry in front of 1,900 guests and international news crews - People over in England wear REALLY BIG HATS - Where did William's hair go? I feel like it was there not long ago. - I think I liked Pippa's dress better than Kate's. And that's the sum total of my thoughts about the royal wedding.

And I agree with you on all of your other points, Liv.

I liked Kate's dress. And her veil and tiara thingy. I think it looked very pretty. Evidently she did her own makeup too for the wedding, which I thought looked very nice.

I hated beatrice's hat. and honestly I've always thought Harry was the cuter brother. Kate and her sister both looked beautiful.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: What a Great Idea! (Royal Wedding related) : Yes. WTF is that? I mean, it isn't even really a hat. It serves no functional purpose, like shading your eyes from the sun or keeping your head warm or anything. And it makes her look like a bug.

I think she already looked like a bug..

Her hat reminds me of Mickey Mouse.

I also think Harry is the hotter brother. He definitely seems to be aging better than William, IMO.

Who is the lady with the crazy hat that looks like Lady Gaga? I saw her sitting right behind the Queen and was like "WTF?"

I turned on E! this morning and they were rerunning it (commercial free, to boot!) and I watched most of the ceremony and was late to work.

My mom is apparently a little anxious about what to wear to my wedding and she said a few weeks ago, "I'll see what the Queen wears." I don't think bright yellow is good for my mom, but now I really want to get her a giant hat. Laughing

ETA: The fact that Kate did her own makeup makes me feel better about deciding not to hire a MUA. Also, I'm reconsidering a tiara. I wanted one, then decided against it, and now I want one again.

What a fabulous idea! Too bad most news sources don't have that option. I'm royal wedding-ed out.

Edit: Although I should add that I loved the top of Kate's dress (not so much the skirt) - I didn't watch the wedding, I just saw some high lights earlier. And my Nana was a Royalist (she was born and raised in England in the 30s and 40s), and if she was still alive today she would have loved every minute of the past few months leading up to this wedding, and would definitely have been up bright and early to watch it.

I got up this morning to watch it. I thought it was lovely. Would I wear Kate's dress to my wedding, NO! But I LOVED it for this. I knew she had to have her arms covered. I thought she might go for a slimmer silhouette instead of the full skirt, but I still loved the overall look. Very classic. very chic. She won't look back in 50 years, or even 10 or 20 and say "What in the F was I thinking?!" She will always look at that picture and know she looked beautiful and not trendy or dated.

    Harry is hot. Hands down.

But does anyone suspect William is probably the better partner? Have you read or heard on the news the things he was saying throughout the ceremony? He joked to his new father in law at the alter that "this was supposed to be a small family wedding" Love it. And he apparently told Kate, "You look beautiful" when she reached him. As any good groom should, but you know the British. Very formal and stuffy, but through all the pomp and circumstance, it still felt young.

And apparently Harry leaned into his brother when he first caught a glimpse of Kate and said "Wait till you see her." I mean, these are pretty adorable moments, brought to you by the Abby being wired with cameras at every corner.

Also, Kate's sister is gorgeous. I mean Kate is beautiful, but Pippa (which I love typing) is a knockout. She just became the most eligible bachelorette in Britain! She probably won't want for a date for the next decade!
