Update and some decisions made

Ladies,

How are you all? It is Sunday and I am about to call it a night ( although it is only 8:20pm) but I am tired. My mom lives in Las Vegas and flew in for the weekend, It was great seeing her. We stayed the weekend at my sister's house and I slept on a bottom bunk bed under my niece who coughed and shook the bed all night long.

While my mom was here I was able to show her and my sister the dress. I also decided on the bling sash for the dress. We actually went shoe shopping but couldn't find anything low and cute.

My niece was slick and showed my mom the flyer and sample picture from a photo booth. My mom loved it and decided she would spring for it!  Yesssss!!!! So I have two options and both are like $1000 but one guy said he could do $750 if we book in the next 48 hours, yall know how they do us brides with the pressure!! LOl

So, this week Fi and I are going to start registering and I am praying we won't argue during this process. We have different styles!!!

Anyway I just felt like saying hello and giving an update!!  What are your wedding plans for the week?

    Thanks for the update and congrats on the checks.  This week I plan to get STD in the mail, take boudoir pics, and work on some DIY projects. FI is itching to do something and he thought he was going to address our STD's with his chicken scratch. HA!  So I guess I'll try to find something he can do that he can't mess up too badly.

    Yay you!  You got alot accomplished with your mom being in town.  I'm taking a break this week on wedding stuff myself.

    Congrats on your checks!

    (IRT registering, may I offer a tip? I picked this up from a tv show, but I can't remember which one it was. Make up 6 "I Insist" cards (or as many as you think is reasonable) and split them evenly between the two of you. You can design them nicely, or you can even just use some plain blank index cards with hand written words on them. When you find yourselves at a disagreement, if he really, really wants it, he can play an "I Insist" card and that's the final word. Same goes for you. Once you're out of cards, that's it. You're done. It's fun and it cuts down on arguments. Similar to what attorneys use during jury selection, so it's also fair. :-)

    (Btw, it also works outside of shopping). And if it doesn't work for you, just try remembering that whatever you're registering for is JUST STUFF. It's just stuff. You don't have to have everything on day 1. You'll have the rest of your lives to get the things you want...

    That is a great idea!! I think we are planning to go tomorrow ( he has been sick all weekend so we will see) and that is a GREAT idea!! I will make them today at work and they may come in handy!! You should share that idea in a post, like you said it may be helpful in other situations!!

    alpresberry- Chicken scratch that is too funny! Why does everyman have the same handwriting??? My Fi's is small and all squished together!! It looks pointy and jagged like it would hurt if you touched it! LOL

    Congrats on the checks! This week I'm trying to make a list of all the things I know I want so that they don't get lost when the planning really starts to pick up. We have finished our STD's but haven't mailed them yet. Sigh...planning is really beginning to grate on my nerves. Oh! I did take my dress to my seamstress to see what she could do in terms of sprucing it up a bit and she said it would be totally easy so I'm excited about that!

    @ Faith Lady... thats great about the dress.. funny my mom mentioned a list yesterday. I am really good at making those so maybe I should hook one up tonight!!
