Suggestions for Honeymoon

I am in need of suggestions for honeymoons. My fiance and I really wanted to go to Hawaii initially....too expensive! Then we really wanted to go to St. Lucia....also expensive. We are looking into going to an all inclusive at a reasonable price. I am wonderin about Turks Caicos. If you have suggestions they are highly welcomed as well as pricing if you have it. We will be flying out of Columbus. Thanks for your help!!

We went on vacation to Riviera Maya on March and we loved it! It was a short flight and very reasonable.  I would go back and stay at our resort again!

We are going to Pnta Cana, Dominican Republic. Found a great deal on Cheapcarribean.com.

We are doing an all inclusive on St. Lucia - not sure what your budget is but we worked with AAA and so we were able to get pretty good discounts by doing that... But we are also going in December so it's possible that affects the pricing.
Our flights plus an 8 day 7 night stay is right around $5,000

What is your budget? We are doing Sandals Grand Antigua for right around $4,000 and it's all inclusive....that includes our air fare. We actually looked into Turks Caicos and it was WAY more than Antigua. We looked into St. Lucia as well, and honestly can't remember why we decided on Antigua. One of the pluses of St. Lucia is that there are 2 Sandals resorts, one on either side of the island and you can go to any of the restaurants on either side and it's included.

I second Riviera Maya! We got a great deal on an all-inclusive and flights into Cancun are generally crazy cheap.

We are actually doing Key West. It is similar to all of those islands, but about half the cost. It obviously isn't all inclusive, but we were able to get the best hotel on the island for about half the cost of an okay hotel on one of those islands. We decided that was better for us. The flights were also about $200 less each which is a major plus!

We're staying at either the Sun Palace in Mexico or the Hard Rock/Palace Resort in PC in the DR. My parents have a time share with Palace Resorts and they are AMAZING! We go every year on our family vacation. For the price and the fact that t is AL...it's the best deal. Send me a PM if you have any specific questions. We've stayed at most of the resorts.

We are going to Cancun and staying at Le Blanc, the # 1 resort there out of 165 according to trip advisor. 5 Star, all-inclusive. We are doing the honeymoon suite and with airfare we are paying around $4200 for the week, for both of us. I really wanted to do Costa Rica or the Caribbean, but I didn't like the travel time it would take to get there. It would take almost a whole day to get there and a whole day to get back. At $500 a day for an all-inclusive I don't want to arrive at 10pm. Not to mention it was a few thousand more expensive.

If you are looking for very budget friendly you could try a carribean cruise that stops at a few islands.

We want to do an all-inclusive in Jamaica, but I'm concerned about hurricanes (we're getting married in August)....has anyone had problems with the weather?  I know we could buy trip insurance.  And I guess hurricanes aren't an issue in St. Lucia because it's closer to the equator, but I'm worried it'll be too hot there in August!

We have taken several trips to Mexico and P*nta Cana, DR. Cancun has tons of nightlife and P*nta Cana is more laid back. Both are beautiful but Dominican Republic is amazing! We have always used apple vacations because they have direct charter flights from Columbus and Cincy. Their prices are great and are all-inclusive. We also wanted to go to Hawaii, but just couldn't swing it. We ended up going to Jamacia. It was very reasonable and beautiful. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

We wanted to go to Hawaii too but in order to save, we ended up going to Pnta Cana, Dominican Republic and stayed at the Majestic Elegance.  It was all-inclusive, adults only, and gorgeous!  There were lots of honeymooners there.

We did an all-inclusive at Ti Kaye in St. Lucia!  It is very affordable (I think it ranges from $200-400 a night depending on what room you have and if whether or not you have a private pool).  You can get a daily meal plan as well, but we found it cheaper to pay as you go for food since the portions were huge.  It is a smaller resort and somewhat isolated but DH and I loved it!  It was pretty much all honeymooners there or couples celebrating aniversaries.  Good luck!

Thanks for all of your suggestions. My fiance would prefer we do not go to Mexico so he is making it difficult. :) Does anyone have suggestions on all inclusive places other than Sandals? I haven't really heard much about any other ones.

I am right there with Kelly.  I really wanted to go to Costa Rica, but we are getting married right before Christmas and did not have the travel time.  Instead we are going to Playa Del Carmen which is about an hour south of Cancun in the Riveria Maya.  I am really looking forward to it!
