Hi there. I am planning my May 2013 wedding to my best friend. We have been together for 6 years and we have 3 kids together...yeah we did things backwards. We were just going to do a very simple wedding in June this year but then 2 days ago my FI tells me he wants a wedding...complete with a nice reception after. I'm so excited but at the same time I'm nervous cuz it's almost a year out and I know places book up fast. We want to get married outside by a lake and have our reception also outside. FI does not want a hall but I kinda do. I am going to be DIY'ing a lot and I don't want the traditional gown or wedding cake. I am hoping you ladies can help point me in the right direction. I would go to my local board but it's with Cleveland and I'm in the Youngstown area. I looked at that board and not a lot for my area. Kim

As far as local boards go, maybe check out the Ohio-Northeast one if you haven't already? I know the brides here from the New England area have issues trying to find vendors for their areas too since their boards aren't as active. I'm fortunate that my local board has helped me out a ton!
