Stacks, don't sell yourself short! That's still pretty incredible! Diving is one of my favorite Olympic events to watch. It's amazing what those people can do with their bodies in the blink of an eye.

I love watching gymnastics too- one of my favorite things is the girls on the uneven bars, when they go from the top bar to the lower bar but it looks like they're falling. And at the last second they swing back around. It always makes my heart jump and my stomach knot. Then when they swing back up it's like, wheeewwwwww.

Yeah, I hate diving. I applaud anyone who can even dive from the side of the pool, let alone do spins and flips.

I just remembered that I get free ice cream at work today. (Free ice cream 3 times for me this week)

It's crazy though, it's only been 10 years since I was in diving and they are doing dives that weren't even invented 10 years ago. They're way harder. I'd have been a none factor with my list of dives in todays competitions. Girls doing front 4.5's. Like are you kidding me? Guys were just learning 3.5's in my day and that was a huge deal.

Diving scares me, but I miss being on a swim team. I would have done it in high school if I hadn't started riding horses.

I can't decide if I want to do layered shots or attempt the broken glass ones. DECISIONS.

So I laughed really hard when someone pointed out that the Olympic logo looks like Lisa Simpson giving Bart Simpson a blow job. Of course they added in the colors, but it wasn't hard to make it look that way.

Morning all.

Stacks that is hilarious!

I think we're having a gathering at our house tomorrow for the OC. We'll see...I just really want buffalo chicken dip. I may make it even if our plans fall through.

I spent all last night cleaning and inventorying (did I just make that up?) my kitchen, so I can get rid of some of my stockpile. Seriously, who needs 6 bottles of bbq sauce at once? I also have four bottles of hot sauce (hence the desire for the dip).

So would you just do 3 layers then? That's what I was picturing in my head. You have to wait for each layer to chill I'm assuming right? How do you do the broken glass ones? Oh and how do you get white jello?

I feel that way about figure skating. When I was training the hardest thing anyone did was a triple axel. Now 99% of men and even a few women do quads. Insanity.

Edie I think they're both about the same difficulty level.

Stacks, I'd probably just do 3 layers for the layered ones. The white is sweetened consensed milk, knox, and vodka. For the broken glass one you make the red and blue and let it set, cut it up into smaller pieces, mix it together, and then pour the white over it. I think I'm going to use the whipped vodka so it's not so bitey. Or the cotton candy. I can't decide.

I think I'd be more impressed with the broken glass ones, Adamar. Just because I haven't seen anything like that before.

But hell, I'd probably be impressed with both kinds. They are way more work than I would ever do. The last time I made jello shots in college, I didn't even bother putting them in cups. I put it in a bowl and then ate it with a spoon. It was not my smartest moment, but it sure went down easy...

Nat, I only eat jello in shot form. Without alcohol it's just blah. The birthday boy chose cotton candy vodka, so cotton candy it is. I'm going to have to try and use it all up. I don't see myself actually drinking cotton candy vodka.

Morning all! I cannot wait for the weekend so I can sleep in. I haven't had a full night sleep all week as one of the dogs or H's snoring has woken me up every night this week. And we just started talking about maybe, possibly getting a puppy so I don't know if this week is preparing me for that or warning me that I like sleep too much to handle a puppy.

Stacks I wish I could dive, all your diving stories are so cool.

I feel the same way about running too, There was a boom in the 80's but the resurgence didn't begin until more recently. I would have won everything in our college league by a lot if I was just a few years older. The second I went to college everyone started upping their game.

Another one for the broken glass version.

Also, I distinctly remember swiming lessons as a child when they were teaching us how to dive off the side of the pool. "Just bend over and fall and let your legs left behind you!"

Yeah right. I could never do it and still am terrified!

We have a going away party tomorrow so I think I'm going to miss the Opening Ceremonies. And we don't have DVR. Ah well.
