totally lost!

So I have yet to book my hair and maleup person for my wedding, but I'm completely clueless where to start. Do I contact individual salons? Or do I just find people who work on their own? help please :)

    It really depends on what you want to do. Do you want to have someone come to where you're getting ready or do you want to go to a salon? If you go to a salon, think about whether you want to try to get your make up done in the same place or if you're willing to go to a second location for makeup.

    Originally, I contacted salons near my reception venue that offered both hair & makeup services because I didn't want to go to more than one location on the morning of my wedding. Those didn't work out for me due to scheduling reasons, so I contracted with my normal hair stylist to come to the hotel I'm getting ready at and started researching make up artists on weddingwire.com. After reading reviews and contacting a few artists for pricing information, I hired a makeup artist to come to my hotel.

    I hired a wedding makeup artist that does both hair and makeup.  I found her on my local board.  I also just Googled and found a few that way and interviewed a couple of others before deciding.
