WA state outdoor budget wedding

Hello,

I am new here... I have been engaged for almost a year and am just NOW starting to think of where and when we will be getting married.

This is a 2nd marriage for both of us, and will be a very small affair, with only our children, parents and a few close friends there ... 20 people max total.

I eloped the first time and really want an intimate ceremony with the most important people in our lives this time.

I love the idea of a very simple dress and very simple ceremony.  Our budget is TINY since I am a full time college student at this time, and we will be in between deployments for my fiance.

Would love to hear about beautiful beaches anywhere in the state... any ideas are greatly appreciated.  This whole process has my head spinning!!

Thanks,
Amber

Congratulations!  You might want to post this in the local board for Washington, as it will be more helpful.  The boards are really messed up right now, but when they're back to normal, they will be located on your left side.

I'm originally from Seattle... I would check out Saltwater State park, or Gene Coulon Park.  Also Dash Point State Park.

A friend of mine had a very small, low budget ceremony at Snoqualmie Falls?  It was beautiful.  There were only 13 of us present.

    Good luck with your planning!

    Hey Amber,

Welcome to the Seattle board! The girls here are verrrrrry helpful and have tons of great ideas and can usually help with anything you need.

An idea I ran across recently was to rent a Vacation Rental home for a wedding. Usually they want you to rent it for the weekend, which is cool cuz then you can have all your guests come and stay at the beautiful house on the beach for the whole weekend! You can probably find a place that would be ~500 for the weekend...or you could find one even less than that. Depends on what you are wanting to pay.

check out VRBO.com -----you can look in all the areas around Seattle, maybe even look up in the San Juan Islands!

Here is a gorgeous, very secluded beach front home in the San Juans....only $300/night. http://www.vrbo.com/183309

A few more I found on just a quick search

    http://www.vrbo.com/176101 ----$250/nt with a 3 night min

    http://www.vrbo.com/182535 ----$300/nt ---3 night min

But I know with some deep searching, you could find some for even less than these. Most officiants will be willing to just come to the beach at the house and marry you there. Also, when you have intimate settings with a small number of guests, the offiants usually charge a lot less!

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more help!

If you are interested in a beach wedding you could look at Bloomer Mansion, where the beach is within walking distance.  I went to my cousin's small (30-ish people) wedding in Seaview, WA (along the coast, near the beach) and we stayed at Bloomer Mansion.  It was great, we stayed there the whole weekend, there were 6-ish bedrooms and tons of comfy pull-outs/couches for the guests to sleep on.  The house was really nice, which helped since the weather was so crappy on Saturday and they had to have the ceremony inside.  But with their wedding being in mid-February that was a risk, if you have your wedding during a warmer season you might not have that problem.
