passports?

I know I know, I'm just now getting a passport for vacation in the end of July...but does anybody know how long it's taking around now to get them back? Should I pay the extra money to have it rushed?

    From the Dept of State website:

    ROUTINE SERVICE

    As of ( Friday June 4, 2010  ), we are processing routine applications in approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of application.

    EXPEDITED SERVICE*

    As of ( Friday June 4, 2010  ), we are processing requests for expedited service, that include overnight delivery to and from the Passport Agency, about 2-3 weeks door-to-door*.


    It doesn't sound like you need the expedited service, but definitely get on this!

    FI needs to get his. We went to Mx last weekend and he got questioned like some criminal and scolded for not having one lol.

    I told him 3 yrs ago to get one when i got mine.
