Good Morning America was just talking about this....apparently more woman are getting plastic surgery because they find it easier to get a job after the surgery.  Apparently employers are only looking for a beautiful face?  Discuss.

  • Well the first person they talked about (the music exec) is a man. So it's not all about what women are doing.

If it can help someone feel more confident, I don't see the problem with it. My mother had a facelift a couple years ago and she feels so much better about herself now. When I get older, I wouldn't rule it out for myself either.

word.  I love my boobs and if I donate them to feeding my child I see no problem in using modern medicine to get them back.

  • I think its sad that people percieve the need to do so for someone else in order to be treated fairly.

If it's something you want to do for yourself, go for it.  But for YOU.  Not for the wrong reasons.

  • Squirrly - exactly.  This would be for me and me alone.  Not even H.  He's happy with me the way I am, but I feel self concious in bathing suits and certain tops/dresses.

<div>True.  GMA only talked about women, but yes, men are doing it too.</div><div>
</div><div>I think it's sad that people feel they NEED it in order to be hired.  But I also agree that if someone wants plastic surgery because that will make them feel better about themselves, then they should do it.  But it makes me sad that people feel they need to get this major surgery for other people.</div>

  • I find it interesting that they talk about people doing it to get jobs and such but in teh last paragraph it states that people are getting loans to pay for it. I had something done but I pated for it outright. I would never take out a loan for something like this. It just makes me think their priorities are messed up. If you are doing a surgery like this it should be for yourself, not to get a job, and you shouldn't have to get a loan to pay for it.
