Need Ideas for Place Cards/Favors

My fiance and I already have our favors (wood slices with magnets) and we are trying to incorporate our place cards into our favor set up.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
Originally we were going to have names written on ribbon attached to the back of the magnets, but I can't find a pen that doesn't bleed right through the ribbon.  So, I am back to square 1.  This is an example of our magnets.

We are having a barn wedding/reception and we are trying to keep it kinda rustic without overspending.  Any ideas welcomed!

I think your best bet might be to attach a tag like these to the back with a bit of glue.

p.s. Not many people want something with your names/wedding date on it, so just be prepared for a lot of these to be left behind.

  • The tags MS suggested look like a good idea to me. Also, I agree with her about having a lot left over. We general warn people to be cautious having things with your names and wedding date on them. For me, however, this favor would be a win b/c I collect magnets, and I would like this. But for a lot of people, this kind of thing is just clutter.

  • I'm using business cards that can run through my laser printer to create favor tags, much like those MS linked to. I have a punch that rounds the corners and I'll punch a hole. Plus, I can print directly on the cards and do a mail merge with my guest list spreadsheet for table assignments to create the escort cards.
I'm doing chocolate covered pretzels for the same reason Addie stated...people not really caring to have our name on stuff.
  • When I saw the pic I thought they were sugar cookies, and got really excited.  Then I read that they were magnets and felt really let down.

  • I like your magnet idea.  I think its very original and cute. I bet you get alot of compliments. If I were your friend or relative I would love to have your magnet on my fridge. I can't think of a way to make cute place cards to present them.Maybe use google-enter place cards and see if something with your theme comes up.Good Luck :)
