Ceremony and reception on a 10K budget

Does anyone know of any venues we could have our wedding at (Spring or Summer 2012) for 10K or close to that amount?  Ideally we'd like the ceremony to take place over looking the water (beach or bay) and the reception to take place at the same location (indoors-banquet hall, restaurant, etc.) on a Saturday night.  We'd have a guest count of about 100 people and would like to have a sit down dinner with open bar.

I don't know how you feel about having your wedding at a restaurant, but I just looked at Taps in Corona. It is a restaurant, but there is a rooms for private parties. The room overlooks a lake with an awesome modern wooden bridge. There isn't a reception fee and that saves you anywhere from 3,000-5,000.

Have you purchased any of the southern california specific wedding magazines? They'll often have a section gonig over all the venue and reception sites as well as give you a general idea of pricing. That is where I started. I'm attempting to keep the budget around 10k for 150 guests and found quite a few places.

Try the Casino ~ San Clemente.
Around 4000 - 6000 depending on what you want!

Also look at the Ole Hanson Beach Club in San Clemente.  Rental is super cheap, includes setup, tables and chairs and they allow you to bring in all of your own vendors, which saves a TON.  We did our wedding for under 10k with full open bar, purchased linens and high-end photographer there.  Photos were beautiful and our guests loved overlooking the water and the train.

No, I actually haven't purchased any magazines yet.  Would you mind sharing which locations you fond for around 10k?

If you have it at restaurants you can easily stay within your budget. Look into The  Reef in Long Beach. When we looked at reception they can do it for less than 10K.
