Negotiate with Band

Hello, I just received a price from a band I plan to hire for my wedding.  Are you supposed to negotiate or is that considered tacky?

    I neogtiated with my band. We are getting married in the "off season" - beginning of April, and they took about 10% off when I mentioned that other bands were offering us lower rates.
