Ride in ski lift to get to ceremony- how to word the invite

HELLO,
I would appreciate any input I could get on this!! We are getting married at the top of a ski field in the summer, so guests will need to take a gondola up the mountain. If the ceremony will start promptly at 6pm, how could I tell the guests to be at the gondola at 530- to ensure everyone is up the mountain on time. I dont want to put a 5:30 start time, and then have guests waiting around for the gondola to start running...

Like I said any input is great! Especially if you have wording I could use!!
THANK YOU!

  • Are you having any inserts or a wedding website?  I would put this information there and not on the invite itself, for simplicity.  You can also spread the information by word of mouth.

  • I would have a special insert added to your invites to explain all of the details.  I would put it on your wedding website and spread it through word of mouth.  Is it a ski lift that ederly people could have problems getting on & off of or is it an actual gondola that is fully enclosed and will take about 6-8 guests per trip?  It would probably be best to give as much information as possible.
  • I was planning on putting it on the website and on an insert but I wasnt sure how to word it exactly. Its a big enclosed ski lift that holds 30 people and has seats and standing room and stays low to the ground so I didnt think i needed to warn anybody about confort on it, but i am concerned about how to word the inserts so people get to the gondola early.

Is it rude to say something like : ceremony starts promplty at 6pm, please make your way to the heavenly gondola located at ___ by 545?

    Thank you!
  • I think you should remove the word "promptly" from anywhere other than maybe your website. People know that 6 means 6.  telling them to be prompt is somewhat condescending.

The gondola issue is another story.  I would probably do an insert explaining that, since it could take 15-20 minutes to get up the mountain.

    Maybe something like this:

"You will be transported to our ceremony location by the Heavenly gondola.  The gondola will begin transporting guests at 5:30p.m. for our 6:00 p.m. ceremony."
