Aisle runners

I'm having an outside wedding. I don't care for aisle runners, but my mother is insisting on one so my dress doesn't get dirty from walking around outside. The problem is that the "aisle" is really long because it technically starts at the "lake house" where we are getting ready and so it is probably 80ft long. I just feel like an isle runner that long would look weird since the aisle where the seats is only about 20-25 ft long. I need some help, should I try for a really long aisle runner or is the necessity for an aisle runner to keep the dress clean on an outside wedding unnecessary?

    I would skip an aisle runner, especially outside.  They can be flimsy and will blow around in the wind potentially causing anyone who walks on it to fall.

    I'd tell my mom that the underside of the dress will probably get dirty from just walking around on a regular inside floor let alone anywhere outside that is not the aisle runner.  It's not really a big deal.  The underside of my dress was black from walking around Bermuda, sand, and then Philadelphia at our AHR.  The dry cleaners got everything out!

    my aisle is 90 feet long but it's a church so there are pews all along the way.  i think if you did an aisle runner that long it would look kinda odd because it will go way beyond the chairs at your wedding.

    Don't do it!  They are a trip hazard, get all wrinkly and look messy, blow around in the wind, and are unnecessary and a waste of money. Spend your ceremony decoration budget on some nice flower arrangements, pew bows or flowers or balls.

    I say skip the aisle runner, you can instead decorate the aisle with hurricane vases with flowers or flower balls.  I found a great website that provides inspiration images of ceremonies that can give you can idea of what you are looking for. Check it out and good luck!

    janegoodey - apparently you missed the pesky little part of the terms of service where vendors arent allowed to advertise on the boards.  How can you trust a vendor who can't follow rules?  All of your posts advertise the website in your post.
