Florist recommendations?

Hi everyone,

Since you have all been so helpful the couple of times I've de-lurked around here, I thought I'd ask for your help once again! As I've said before, I'm planning from afar, and with my holiday visit to my family in the area coming up, I was hoping to choose a florist. (I determined after a few calls that this vendor just couldn't be done over the phone!) I've read lots of great things about Florals by Alisa on this board, and I plan to check them out, but I was wondering- anyone have any other recommendations (or warnings?) We've got a pretty limited budget for flowers (in the 2k area), so I'm looking for someone who's willing to work with that and stilll produce creative florals. I appreciate any recommendations or tips you all might have! Thanks!

Most definitely Golden Gate Studios. I haven't booked with them yet but just saw an amazing display at a bridal show. Click on my planning bio and you can see the tall centerpiece they did - he said this would be around $175! A lot of bang for your buck. The bouquet he did was also beautiful!

Ditto Golden Gate. My budget was under 2K and Jay is way under that.

Florals by Alisa is also very popular on this board. They will also work within your budget. As for Golden Gate, I also had the pleasure of meeting them at the show. I love their work! I thought the tall peacock centerpiece was more but I could be wrong. Anyways they are my top two picks! I am also going to check out Colors Floral Design in Swansea, MA and Blooming Blossoms.

The Flower girls.  A few girls on the board have used Tiffany and their flowers were beautiful.
She loves what she does, and she also came in under budget, and I am using basically all roses!

I am using Tami @ tamarareiddesigns.com I really like her alot and she is super patient with me. I think my total cost will be around 3,200 for everything but, I am doing alot, I have 20 centerpieces and she is decorating my parents yard and have 7 BMs so I am sure you could do it for 2ish

I agree with Golden Gate...I met with Jay...and knew I wanted him to do my flowers! Id say something and hed pull out a picture and knew exactly what i meant. We are right under $2000 with them...and it includes EVERYTHING! I'm very impressed! They were the only florist we went with...let there and both agreed they are prefect! And we didn't look any further!

I also would suggest Florals by Alisa-they are very responsive via email, help with suggestions (I don't know anything about flowers), and the prices are great. They work out of their home, so there's not much overhead and thoe savings are passed on to you. I got quotes from Golden Gate, Stone Blossom, Malinda's Natural Designs, Florals by Alisa, and a few others. Florals by Alisa was around $800 less than any of the other quotes for essentially the same thing.
