FI and I are going to Disney and doing a 3 night Bahamas cruise on Disney's new ship! I think for you and your FI it all depends on what you guys like? How long are you looking to HM for?  If you like to relax on the beach and stuff like that, I would recommend a cruise or an AI resort. The cruise is probably your better bet if you're looking to go to several places over the course of a week, plus all of your meals are paid for.

We flew out the day after the wedding to Vegas for a few days then rented a car and drove to LA to fly out to Fiji for another week. We loved that it was the best of both worlds.. we celebrated in Vegas then relaxed at a secluded resort in the South Pacific.

We're going to Canmore, Alberta, Canada... in January. We either wanted to go someplace cold, or some place warm, were torn between Canada and Antigua, and then FI's parents offered us their timeshare to trade in.

We'll ski, snowboard, go dogsledding, maybe take a ride in a helicopter around the Canadian Rockies, maybe get to see the Aurora Borealis, catch a Flames game, hang out in downtown.

We don't want to send a ton of money (because we don't have it Wink) but this is really turning itself into our dream vacation. I can't wait to go!

We're thinking of heading to the Bahamas. FI really wants to got to Atlantis, and I really just want warm beaches and fruity cocktails, so we both are happy :P

We're doing a Caribbean cruise that is stopping in the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Marteen.  We haven't picked our excursions yet but I know one of them will be swimming with dolphins :)

I'm doing Bahamas too. We thought about Hawaii but the flight is so long, and we both hate to fly. SO we settled on Bahamas becuase it is tropical, but not quite as far of a flight

Hello.  We are going to South Africa for 10 days.  Five days will be spent in Capetown and the other five days will be spent on safari.  I am so ready for an adventure with my fiance.  BTW-I have an addiction to international travel, so it had to be an exciting international place.  Good luck picking a place.  Feel free to contact me with any international questions (I can try to help).

How long was the flight from LA to Fiji? That's where I originally wanted to go but FI doesn't want to be on a plane that long. I feel like it will be worth it bc I can't think of another time where we'll have the opportunity to go.  Was it expensive?

We just got back from Greece. It was AMAZING!  We spent three nights in Athens, three nights on Naxos Island and three Nights in Santorini.  I've been all over Europe and this was by far one of the most amazing places and trips I've ever been on.  Hands down the best vacation H and I have ever taken together.  Would highly rec.

It's a 10 hour flight from LA which is why we broke up the trip by stopping off in Vegas for 2 nights first. Honestly, the flights weren't that bad, they're always an overnight flight leaving LA at 11:30 at night so everyone just sleeps on the plane and the time goes by a lot quicker than you'd think, plus they have tv's in all the headrests so if you're awake you can watch movies or tv shows. They also serve dinner and breakfast and the flight back to LA will also be overnight leaving around 11:30 Fiji time.

Definitely worth it, we felt the same way, like when would we have another opportunity to travel half way around the world for a while? Mexico and the Caribbean are so much closer and much more easily attainable for trips here and there so we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity and are so glad we did! Yes, it was expensive, but totally worth it! Friends of ours spent more to stay at Sandals in St. Lucia than we did to go to Fiji.. craziness!!! They stayed in one of those rondoval suites.. but still we couldn't believe it!

We are planning on Hawaii.  We are going to fly out to California (haven't decided what part yet) and stay there for a day/day and a half so that the time change won't affect us as much in Hawaii.  Then we will hopefully take a red eye to Hawaii.  We want to spend a few days in a resort in Oahu and see Pearl Harbor then head to Maui and do some more adventurous stuff.  We wanted a mix between adventure and relaxation.  He's one of those people that hates to just sit in the sun so we wanted somewhere adventurous too.  We're starting to do our research now and hopefully meeting with a TA soon.

We went to Puerto Rico for a week. We spent one day in Old San Juan, took the ferry to Culebra another, went hiking in the rainforest, snorkeling, and logged plenty of beach time. The food there is amazing too, I am ready to go back!

We are doing a transatlantic cruise....if you aren't familiar with taking cruises, when they need to reposition ships (say from caribbean to Europe) they fill the ship and make it a 14 day "transatlantic/repostioning" cruise...got a super low rate and we both have tons of vacation time at work. It leaves from San Juan, goes to St. Marteen, many days at sea, Canary Islands, and then 5 ports in Spain, including Palma del Mallorca (something like that) and Gibraltar. We end in Barcelona and will take a one way flight home....we love cruising and we are beyond excited for it :)

I think I'm more excited for the honeymoon than the wedding!

We are flying to Fort Lauderdale, renting a convertable and driving all the way down to Key West for a week!! We'll be staying just off of Duval Street at an awesome resort! We are calling it our Jimmy Buffett honeymoon!!
I wanted to stay in the country and just do a quick flight so FI came up with this option since we are both Jimmy Buffett fans, so if you're trying to figure out where to go or what to do think about your interests that you and FI share, or if there is some place new you want to visit!
    Good luck!

We flew out the morning after the wedding (REALLY EARLY morning, aka our wedding day never really ended because we stayed up lol) and did a week in Aruba.

We stayed at an all-inclusive resort, so our "room and board" so to speak was paid for (ie. we didn't have to worry about where we were sleeping, or where we would eat & how we would pay for it throughout the week).  That left us a lot of play money for excursions!  We did off-roading through an ATV provider, rented a scooter to tour the island, did snorkeling/SNUBA/sailing through a watersports company, and had dinner and other benefits as part of our honeymoon package, horseback riding on the beach through a ranch on the island...we had a lot of fun :)

We're really adventurous travelers - we've both backpacked Europe solo when we were in college (long before we met), and together we've been to Costa Rica (with no reservations - just a rental car and 5 days to fill, it was fantastic!) and Europe (Vienna, Munich, and Paris in 10 days).  We've been to Mexico and to the Bahamas.  We've both lived all over the world.  So we really, really wanted to go someplace neither of us had ever been, and we wanted it to be BIG - we were thinking Vietnam.  We're not beach people, though we can tolerate it for a few days it quickly bores us.  Food, culture, and language are what excite us.  So we thought Vietnam would be awesome.  Except we had counted on me getting airline miles from work to pay for the flights, and then I lost my job.  And I was the only one who would be able to save up money since FI is in law school (aka dead broke and living on student loans).  And now that I don't have a job, there's no savings.

Anyway, long story short, we can't go to Vietnam anymore.  We don't want to use wedding gift money to pay for our trip since we want to use that to start our savings together.  So we decided to do an easy US trip for a honeymoon and then take a bigger trip around our 1 year anniversary (FI is a Marine, and he'll be finishing up 6 months of training around then, so he'll have some time off and we'll have time to save up some money).  Our original plan was to drive around Virginia and stay in little B&Bs and go to different wineries, which would have made us very happy.  My parents offered to gift us the miles that they're getting through paying for our wedding on the airline credit card, so now we're going to Napa instead!  We're going to spend about a week in San Francisco and Napa Valley, eating and drinking ourselves into a peaceful oblivion.

We went to Ireland for our honemoon. We went the first week of March and had an amazing time. We got an amazing deal too. We stayed 7 nights at the Ritz Carlton in a gigantic suite about 20 minutes south of Dublin. We had a rental car and rather then doing escorted tours we did 2 big day trips ( which isnt hard when the country is small) One day we drove to Cork to see the Barney Castle and surrounding areas and another day we drove to the Cliffs of Moher which was by far my favorite. And amazingly it only rained for about 20 minutes the whole trip until the day we left!

Thanks!  I'll totally take recommendations.  I already know the B&B we're going to stay at since it's where my parents stayed for their 25th wedding anniversary.  My brother's already told me that when he's ready to propose to his girlfriend, he'll take her there so it can be a full circle thing - my parents' 25th, my honeymoon, and my brother's proposal!  Cute, right?  Well, I think so anyway!

And if you need help planning Europe, let me know!  I've backpacked through Europe pretty extensively and FI and I went on a trip last October - Vienna, Munich, and Paris in 10 days.

We're going to Slovenia and Croatia. We definitely wanted to do Europe, and we've already been to most of the 'major' countries, so this was a great fit. It's a bit 'off the beaten path', and in April we won't really be dealing with huge crowds yet... We can do the site seeing thing, but also just relax by the beautiful lakes and mountains in Slovenia, and chill on the beaches in Croatia. We have about 2 weeks, and since we'll be seeing at least 2 and maybe as many as 4 countries (easy day trips to Montenegro and Bosnia), it kind of feels like we're going on 2 honeymoons!
