I had mine in-suite but the hotel is so clean and well decorated, I would imagine it would be gorgeous! The service was great too when we stayed. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

We had the ballroom experience, but not at PH. We had a very nice ballroom reception at Caesars. Our catering manager was the best and the food and cake were beyond our expectations. We used outside vendors for decor and lighting.

I'm looking into this too-- I've emailed Angela Dorman, who coordinates catering for ballroom receptions in Caesars, PH, Imperial Palace, Paris, and a couple of others. Each of these casinos have catering menus on their web sites, but I'm particularly interested in seeing what exactly the ballrooms look like.  I know there's another bride on the board who is in the process of planning a PH ballroom wedding (she posted recently too, it's got to be a couple of pages in) and she said the ballrooms there are very fun-looking.

EDIT: That other bride was you, duh.  Sorry for the brain fart today, haha-- that pretty much renders my response completely unhelpful.

Angela Dorman is the one who worked with me.  She is great!  Yes, I went and looked at several hotels' ballrooms.  We chose PH because it was hip and fun- not too plain and conservative. The colors went with what we were looking for too.

The Wynn was our second choice- and it was a close call.  The ballrooms there are gorgeous and they were soooo detail orientated it was great!  I felt like I was in good hands- with a catering dept. that cared as much about my wedding details as I do.  :)  That is the only thing I am worried about with PH.  Angela Dorman is just sales.  Once you book, you deal with someone else.  I am not sure who that is-- I emailed the other day to find out.  I am worried about all the little details and if they will take care of everything for me.  Like another bride said she is having nightmares of her wedding- I am having terrors of this while Im awake every day!  I am sooo stressed!

Let me know if you have any questions- I checked out the Wynn and Encore, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Tresure Island, Planet Hollywood, and Monte Carlo.  (I did not see Ceasers, Bellagio, MGM, Paris, or Mirage because i did not like what they had to offer by researching online.)  MGM, Ceasers, and Bellagip were too expensive for the value.  Wynn is a five star hotel and you'll pay more for them but their value was amazing!!  It was actually less expensive than the same type of stuff!  We felt you got way more for the price at Wynn- and you can;t get more beautiful than the Wynn!

I actually do have another quick question-- FI and I have a scouting trip planned to Vegas on Valentine's Day, and I wanted to check out the ballrooms at PH, etc.  Did you just kind of stroll into the ballrooms by yourselves to check them out, or did you have to schedule a meeting with Angela and have her take you around to show them to you?

You should definitley schedule an appointment with someone in the catering department for each hotel to view the ballroom.  You can't just stroll up because you don't know if there is a meeting or event going on already.  Plus, it helps to have them there to ask questions.  In addition, we liked to meet who we would be dealing with to determine if they were up to customer service standards (Mandalay Bay was the worst in the catering department- which was really disappointing because that our first choice for the chapel!)

I also suggest having a list of questions for each venue you want to see, and research as much info as possible for each venue beforehand.  Take a lot of pictures of everywhere you visit.  We took pics of the walls, ceilings, chairs, lights, everything!
