"Beach" Ceremony

Has anyone had their ceremony at a lake in the sand at all?

If so where would you recommend to go?

Is this something that you would need to contact the city of the park/beach you are going to?

We are planning to have our cocktail reception at a hotel downtown and would love to go to either Lake Calhoun or Harriet, or somewhere near, to do our ceremony at the beach.

Our families and friends will not be able to afford going to a destination wedding, so we thought we'd try to do it here.

Thanks for all the input and help ladies.

I pretty sure you can do something kinda beachy at Treasure Island casino, and they have facilities to host a great reception there if you aren't completely in love with having it in Minneapolis.

We are doing a destination wedding to the north shore and getting married on Lake Superior. I couldn't find many lake side sites in the cities so we decided to go to the best lake we could think of. It is kind of a happy medium. People can drive without spending much cash and we get the view that we wanted. Don't know if that helps you at all but maybe you want to take a look at the Northshore.
