don't want a wedding gown

I don't want to get the traditional wedding gown for my wedding this summer. I had considered a white bridesmaid dress or even a bridesmaid dress in our wedding colors.

Other than wedding boutiques, do you have any suggestions of where i could go to look for a less formal but nice (and short - think just to the knee) dress for my very informal ceremony?

Anywhere you would buy a cocktail dress, think department stores, I think Wai Ching is based in Seattle and they have some cool offbeat type options.

Macys, Nordstrom. Look in their dress department. You could even try prom dresses. It will be prom season soon.

It really depends on your personal style.

I like dresses from White House Black Market, Calvin Klein, and JCrew. I've also found some awesome cocktail dresses at Marshalls & TJMaxx.

If I didn't have a strange obsession with lace, I would have gotten this one. It's absolutely gorgeous.

They have a lot of pretty white/ivory dresses.

Mod cloth is great! I'm not sure how "fancy you want your dress though. If you're looking for something simple and lightweight, but still dress you can check out the designer Mon Cheri, and I believe the destinations collection has a lot of knee length dresses.

I am an aging bride (42) I have a pretty good figure and have found some simple wedding gowns I like, but I just feel silly wearing one at my age.
