Hiding grom's "excitement" advice

Re: Hiding grom's "excitement" advice

  • OP, thank you for this.  I don't mean to laugh but it's really brightened my afternoon ;)  I've honestly never heard of this being a concern.  Of all the things to be worried about on your wedding day!

But in all seriousness, I'm sure he can think of a way to deal with this.  They are his parts, after all ;)

I think you should have him wear this.  No one will know the difference.

Good suggestion: Give him some of grandpa's blood pressure medicine.. it should wear off by the time you get back to the hotel room.

I think a squirt bottle might be an appropriate solution to this problem, too.

Give it to the best man, and have him keep an eye on things for you.

DED.  I'm picturing like when you spray water on your cat to train him not to jump on the kitchen counter.  Down boy, down!
  • If he's really THAT worried about it, he can rub one out in the bathroom before the ceremony starts. Hopefully he won't run into anyone in the bathroom. Awkward!

I think seeing a groom get a boner during the ceremony and then get all embarrassed by it, would actually make ceremonies enjoyable for the guests. They could share the joining of two lives, and laugh at a guys inopportune boner at the same time.

Thank you!  I saw your new(?) siggy yesterday, and your little guy is pretty handsome, himself.

I AWed some pics from the beach a couple of days ago.  It was the first time in 6 weeks that I've seen her.

  • Ok, serious advice:

Are you seeing each other before the ceremony? A first look can really help calm the nerves.

I'm pretty sure once the ceremony starts, people will be watching YOU walk in. And for your vows, have him angle himself toward the officiant.

  • Is he wearing a tux?  This issue is what the boutonniere is for, you just have to tuck it in pointing upwards.

Married in Vegas - June 2011

  • But for real. I thought that being nervous would produce the opposite of a hard on.

Well shiit - there's no hiding that, unless you use duct tape.

John was awake in his living nightmare - a room full of video cameras and still cameras, miked up. He had 3 drinks in him, and he knew that a roomful of his cycling friends (amongst others) were watching live. A boner was NOT an issue. I think it may have turtled, actually.

  • Why do you guys always have to be so mean? Geez...

Gather around and let me tell you a story, it's a random story, and a slightly awkward one, like most of the random stories I tell.
My ex bf had a habit of getting excited in akward situations. He didn't know why, because (according to him) he was not horny, but the little guy would just pop up anyways. First date? Popped up at dinner (no he did not get any because I was weirded out) Grandfather's funeral, he said hello. Friend's wedding, hello little man. Graduation? Yep you guessed it.

You aren't marrying a 26 year old uber dork who refuses to work because he's too busy playing video games are you?

OMG.  I had no idea that this was a genuine concern for some people.  If FI's little man says hello during the ceremony it will take all my self control not to laugh at him.  I will tease him later about it.
  • Yeah, I almost went Lorena Bobbit on his asss once too. We were having a huge fight which would determine if we were going to remain a couple or not and he got a boner. I just looked at him and was like "What the fvck is wrong with you? Are you 12?", grabbed my cat and went to my parent's house for a week.

DED.  I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time but that is ridiculous.  Or maybe you're just sexy when you're mad.
  • No clue! I've only been really mad a handful of times in my life and all of the other times I was told I was just terrifying.
  • That IS one advantage of being 42.
