Flowers on the cheap?

I already have my "people" flowers (corsages, bouquets, etc). Now I want to get some flowers for my centerpieces--which are going to be way simple---probably a single flower in a wine bottle.

Since I'm going so simple, I don't need someone to arrange it for me, and I am wondering where I can buy a mass quantity of flowers for cheap that I can cut and handle myself.

Any suggestions?

You're in luck! St. Louis has an amazing Florist's Row in the Gate District neighborhood that has several amazing bulk floral stores!

So much better in my opinion than going through a large national company where you don't know what you'll get like Sam's!

GREAT value at Soulard Florist in Soulard Market. I was going to use Sam's Club, but then I'd have to prep everything myself. Jeannie at Soulard is "wet wrapping" all of my gerbers for me! Since I didn't really need 80 (the # you get at Sam's), it was well worth it even though it is a tad more per piece. I end up saving money AND not having to do that much to keep them fresh.
