I can't believe I am the first to post this morning.  Everyone still asleep?  Well I hope everyone had a good day yesterday and a good night!

  • good morning! i am here. DH is out of town so i didn't sleep that well.
     i stayed up last night attempting to crochet a sweater. i really want to start making sweaters for me and DH to wear, i think the idea of wearing something i made is so cool! so i'm starting with a baby sweater. it is going ok so far but i have gotten to the point where i am confused! i have the front and back done, but i need to figure out assembly and sleeves. it looks cute though!
    my WW meeting last night went pretty well, i was kind of nervous about it b/c my first one of the week wasn't that great, but last night went much much better.

    Last night was good.  I posted on FB - I was elected Co-Captain of the women's sailing fleet (sailor speak for VP/secretary).

    This morning, not as good.  Major drop in my temp - looks like AF is on the way tomorrow and we are on to the next cycle of TTC.  I know I am not out until she shows, but I just don't think this was our month (again - with the stress and sleep problems in Dec - I am not surprised).....darn - I could have had wine over the holidays!  So, if I am a little down the next couple days, I am sorry, just need to get it out of my system.  But, I need to set up my annual check up with my regular doc this month and I will be talking to her about seeing a specialist - this will be our 6th cycle and with my age that means I need to take the next steps.  I am confident we will figure out what is right for us this year.  I may be a little mopey, but I am still optimistic.

  • Morning girls!
    I have a huge headache this morning things have been kind of stressful lately.
    Rux our kitten has been sick ever since we got him. He has been on a ton of medicines and still he is not getting better. He is growing and doing well but his stomach is giving him issues. We are afraid we might have to start invasive tests on him to figure out the problem. We have already spent $500 on him in the last two months. With the testing and neutering we will probably spend another $1000.
    Vet bills just suck.

    Also, Philip's Gfather had a stroke over the weekend and we have been dealing with that news. He mangled his hand and the whole left side of his body is paralyzed. He is 94 so we knew something would happen some time but it is still hard to deal with. We will be making the two hour trip to see him this weekend.

    Finally it is my Last day at Yankee! I am excited to be done and I will be stocking up on candles before my discount goes away.

  • Morning girls!  Congrats on being names Co-Cap, K!  Sorry to hear about the temp drop, but hang in there!  Like you said, you don't know till AF shows.  *hugs*
    Ash, sorry to hear about DH's Gfather.  Stuff like that is never easy.  Hope y'all have a safe trip this weekend and are able to spend quality time with your family. 
    Lisa, send pics of the sweater when you're done!

    I'm still coming down from my NyQuil hangover, and gearing up with DayQuil.  The next couple of weeks will be extremely busy at work, so I cannot stay sick for long.  My plans for this weekend are: sleep, rest, nap, take down Christmas lights so we are the PWT neighbors anymore.

  • Good morning!! I'm here! I got so much sleep last night, I feel rejuvenated. Upset I didn't go to the gym last night, but I will tonight! Couple of my friends posted that they where there yesterday so I'm motivated for today!

    K- Everything will work out. I hope that babies are in your very near future!

    Ash- I hope your headache subsides. I know how you feel. Poor Rux. Hopefully you don't have to spend too much to see what's going on in his stomach. Vet bills really do suck. I had that with Sadie and our cat Gixer this year. It was almost $2000 to get them fixed up.

    Hola Ladies! Happy Thursday (one more day to Friday WHOOO!)!

    Congrats on being Co-Cap K! Thats awesome, sorry about the temps, but you never know until AF shows. Crossing my fingers for you (and all of our other TTC ladies!).

    Ash-sorry to hear about your H's grandfather and your little kitty.

    LD- Hope you feel better soon! Colds are awful, I was chugging Dayquil about a month ago, it is no fun.

    Work is ramping up for me so I may not be on as much, but I will try to drop in periodically. This is our busiest time of year!
     
    I went to a class that used lots of low weights/high reps and lots of lunging and pushups. I wanted to die, and I am slightly sore. I will probably go back next week though because I think it will be good for me to do this!

  • Morning girls. 

    MM is set to show for me tomorrow (yes K, I've noticed over the last few months that you and I are on the exact same cycle) so I'm feeling exceedingly mushy this morning and just want to hug all of you that are having it rough right now.  I'm also craving all things salty which isn't helping my attempt to eat healthy, yet somehow I lost 7 pounds since Thanksgiving - go figure.

    Ash - I am so sorry about DH's Gpa.  Its tough no matter what their age is.  I hope Rux gets better too! 


    I have to admit something.  I have FAILED miserably this week for motivation and doing anything for getting my arse up and getting healthy!  I feel bad.  I haven't gone to the centre or anything yet.  I will do Zumba on Saturday but that will be the extent of it.  This cold is kicking my arse and it makes me just want to cuddle under a blanket at home.  Sorry girls!  But Saturday is going to be good.  The plan is to go to the feildhouse early (around 9) and walk around the track till Zumba then go use the treadmill/work out centre for an extra 10 min or so to cool down. 

    I have a full day on Saturday of errands.  I am going to go and get us a scale to do weigh in's (Z is doing this with us!) and I am also going to go and look for a new camera bag... I need one that I can work with better.  I hate setting it down.  I tend to walk away.  Also I want it so I can fly with it. :)

    Having a mediocre day so far...two trials starting next week plus a new group of 100+ people coming in the following week has me super busy with paperwork and phone calls.

    Lisa, I wanna see a picture of your sweater when you finish!

    Laura, you don't wanna just leave your lights up for next year? ;) Get well soon!

    Kristen, hang in there- you're doing all of the right things and it will pay off hopefully very very very soon.

    Ashley, sorry about H's gpa :( that's tough. Plus, a sick kitty! Sad face.

    Serena and Liz, pass me some of your motivation please. I'm struggling with the working out. However, I am super excited about some of my newly discovered recipes. I'm going to the grocery store this weekend so I'll post recipes and reviews along the way next week if anyone is interested. I'm looking for mostly low calories and cutting carbs wayyyyy down especially since DH is diabetic. Carbs and starches=sugar problems.

    Good news - J and I are going to a 40th b-day party for one of his friend's on Friday - looks like I will be able to drink!  Too bad it is at a pool hall - not the most wine-friendly venue....might have to mix it up with a cocktail (beer has not been appealing to me since coming off BCP).  But it should be a fun night.

    Linds - I saw you have been checking illness on FF all week - hope you are feeling better soon!  Feel better, too, Ash!

  • Lisa- your sweater idea sounds awesome! My grandmother used to make clothes and she told me to put the ball of yarn in a laundry bag and throw it in the wash to pre-shrink it. I can't wait to see your sweater when it is done! :)

    Linds and Court- I am the same way. I am feeling better that I am eating well this week but I really haven't gotten motivated to go to the gym or work out. I will have to make myself do something before the week is done so I get in some work out at least!
    I would love Liz and Serena's motivation as well!

  • Wow lots going on this week for everyone!

    So last night I got suckered into singing in a quartet (well, now a quintet I guess?) at church on Sunday. I don't sing much in front of people...especially in front of a crowd of people. I'll get someone to record it and I'll post it if it doesn't turn out awful. :P I'm nervous!!!

    Just so everyone knows, I'm in touch with KA and crew and I just sent in my "official" mod application. So hopefully we'll have a new mod soon! :)

    I have been SUPER lazy this am....done, well...nothing at all but packed pauls lunches for the week (the non perishable parts at least....)

    I am going to head to a yoga class at 12 and then off to work at 2. I wont be home till almost 9... boo....i hate the late shifts. I like the morning shifts. Gets me going and then I have the rest of the day to do things and i can be home to make dinner.

    Im TRYING not to stress....yesterday was ovulation day....managed to BD in the am when we were supposed to and then again in the pm just for a little extra luck. SO much went into this month and this cycle that I need to just relax and not stress (HA!) the next 2 weeks....

    MB- how??? I have been stressed and depressed and all recently and have been eating things i NEVER eat....UUUHHHH!!!!! I have gained like 10 pounds since the wedding and I want it GONE!!!! Im scared this week to diet too much though cause if there is a baby growing in there, it needs everything it can get. And im worried that exercising too hard will make things not happen like i want them to...
    BOO!

  • Yay Mel for new Mod!!!!

    MB 7 pounds!!! I am jealous, my goal is about 6 pounds (hopefully 8-it takes a long time to lose weight) by the middle of Feb, which is H's birthday trip to Florida.

    Linds, hope you feel better...if I were you, I wouldn't push it, just focus on getting better girl!

    My motivation has honestly been the number on the scale. I weighed yesterday, and I was not happy, this is the most I've weighed in my entire life. I guess I've just been a super happy newlywed this past year! H is even excited because he wants to lose too, and with me being on WW now, he will lose because I have to cook healthier.

    Court- I want to try some new stuff too. Have you seen skinnytaste.com? She posts tons of healthy stuff. I wish I could lower my carbs, that is my weakness. Can't wait for some reviews!

  • Brit - I have heard that pineapple (especially the core) is good to eat the 5 days after O to promote a good place for the the egg to burrow in.  I figured, it can't hurt and I like pineapple anyways...sending you all the baby dust I can!

  • Yes, Liz, I've gotten a few ideas from skinnytaste. It's a very helpful website, probably more so if you're on WW since she gives the point totals of each recipe.

    Carbs are a total weekness for me too. I love potatoes and bread so much I can't stand it. Crave them sometimes!! I've found a few alternatives that I will try out and share after.

  • Happy Thursday ladies!! I'm just doing laundry and watching The Bachelor from Monday. I didn't like the guy when he was on last season and so far I don't like him this season either. Plus I'm only about 20 minutes in but the girls he will be "dating" are terrifying so far! I go back to work tomorrow-Sunday and our new Lab Director will be there. He started this week. I'm a little uneasy because everyone that had met him so far hang been very positive. I guess we'll see. Hugs to everyone, just because.

  • I guess I should put my motivation on here. My wedding day was the heaviest I have ever been. I knew that I wasn't going to lose anything before the wedding so I wanted to lose it after. I couldn't dare keep myself where I was. Since then I have lost 8 pounds.
    I did WW which helped but then school started and I couldn't attend the meetings so I quit. I kept up with my eating habits and continued to lose. Now here we are today, I will be happy with 5 pounds but ideally I would like to get down 10 more.

    What helps a lot.. I have a roommate who is dieting/working out and she helps ALOT! Also another good friend has lost 30 pounds and looks great. They both check-in when they are at the gym and that gets me thinking that I should go! To keep me accountable I also check-in. I guess it so I can then motivate others to go, I haven't figured it out yet.

    the eating part... Robert hates sweets so as I have mentioned before, they are not allowed in the house. I of course can buy them and hide them, but why waste the money when you know it's not good for you?!?!

    Our grocery store sells them for about $4 each.  Eat 1/5 of it each day for 5 days - including the woody core.  People have recommended using the core in a smoothy to chop it up good.  I'm trying what I can, too.  I have a book about food choices to promote fertility - will look for more pointers tonight.  Why can't this be easier?

    I know we can get good cups of pineapple that I like that should work too, or you would think so.

  • I have no idea how those 7 pounds went away but I still have another 25 to go so it's only a start. 

    My mushiness is increasing exponentially with every goofy song on my iPod and with every GTG post.  I'm just going to be a big puddle by the end of the day.
