the checklist tab under "Myknot"?

I did. Freak out mode? Yes. Apparently in the next month or so FI and I need to go scope out some cake places. I think the little things I need to get done is what is making me nervous.

Stina, that checklist terrifies me. I'm grateful for it-but it's terrifying. According to my checklist we still have 145 things to do. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!

According to our checklist we should have already signed the caterer (and we were SO CLOSE, but then they ended their contract with the museum..... so now we're trying to find another.) and I need to find a hair salon and we need to book the DJ & photog...

But we still haven't finialized the weekend that will work for both of us for me to get up there to be there for all of those things.

On the bright side: my save the dates are supposed to be delivered TODAY! and I got an email from cardsandpockets that my sample shipped today as well!! So at least that stuff is going well...

And my FI & I have started working through our pre-marital counseling book given to us by the church & set up at least 2 more Skype dates to finish chapter 1 & hopefully make headway on chapter 2.. So, I suppose we're getting there, but I feel like there's still so much that needs to get done!!

Confused- what other lists have you all been using to plan? hahaha

But yeh, there is a lot that we still need to do. I did go through the list in the beginning and marked things as "done" that I knew I wasn't going to do (like research lighting)

I love and hate that list lol

Some stuff I'm totally rocking out on, done! done! done! Even ahead of the game. And then I feel like a superstar. And then I start looking at all the other stuff that I haven't a clue on and that I'm behind/nearly behind on and I start to hyperventilate :-p

So far I have venue, caterer, cake, dj, florist, photographer, church, registered for pre-cana classes, the dress (but i can't order it until i have the shoes to get the right measurement)

This weekend we have menu tasting with the caterer & shoe shopping (who knew this would be so hard!), next week our epics, the following week menu and venue planning (napkins, order of events, etc) with the venue coordinator, then the epics should be sent to us by then and I can start ordering the STDs and on the 9th is bridesmaid dress shopping.....phew!

Not to mention I also need to start calling hotels about blocking rooms and limo services soon.

I also have a love/hate relationship with the to do list. We seem to be getting a lot done all at once and then having lulls. I feel like Jan/Feb are big months. I started getting nervous when I called vendors and they were already booked!!! I'm on the hunt for a florist!

After looking through the list a few times, I decided to delete some of the things I knew wouldn't apply to us. It made it seem a little less terrifying. January seems to be flying by. STD will be going out this week, next is figuring out transportation and ceremony music.

I've been using the Wedding Happy app on my iPhone instead of the Knot checklist. I think it's a lot more palatable.

Stina - hahhaha, that's fair.

I ordered my samples on Friday, and I got the "your order has shipped" email just yesterday, so, I expect your email will be arriving soon!!

I went through yesterday and got rid of a couple more items, so now I'm down to like 136 or something. (sigh). BUT! I'm going to the post office today to buy postcard stamps for my STDs!! I have one with me to make sure that they don't need anything more than a postcard stamp. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!

I am not a fan of that checklist!! I do have quite a few things completed like venue, photog and DJ because fall around here books up really fast. We booked out venue last April and he was already booking weddings for this October and wasn't available for the weekend we originally wanted. I was just looking over the checklist and I noticed it said to send out invitations at the 3 month mark, doesn't that seem early? I was thinking about sending ours out in August which would only be 2 months early. It seems like sending them in July is super early.

Miller, I found a post on Pinterest that actually said three months early too. You listed your wedding day and did a bunch of subtracting and as you kept going back it listed when you should have certain parts of your invites and when to send them. I'll post the link when I find it again.

What colors did you order? Our pockets are Opal and the mat is sparkling merlot, the invite portion will be opal and the enclosures will be opal.

I was about 4 months behind, but now apparently since we moved our date 6 months out we're on target even a little ahead. We should be good after we sign our contract in the begining of march. The whole knot time line was making me super nervous with the 8 month time frame from Disney and us not doing anything so far especially when we expanded our guest list. Disney does a lot of the leg work but there is still an awful lot of work to do and things to buy.

I think invitations really depends on where your wedding is and where your guests are. Our STDs will go out in march (11months out) from Disney (One less thing for me to worry about). We are planning on sending our invites in October. This is about 4 months out. Everyone is having to travel for this wedding so I want them to have plenty of time to make their travel arrangements. We will be sending out a confirmation itinarary and schedule to those who send us RSVP. The reason for this is that we are having multiple events durning that weekend and are offering host hotels that have to be booked 30 days in advance. These hotels and discounted park tickets have to be reserved in a specific way so though they'll get it on the STDs and our website I find its important to reiterate it for a 3rd time to our guests (better safe than sorry) In general though 3 months is the rule of thumb.

I was going over this today. It really is getting to crunch time. After our trip to Florida in a couple weeks, we really need to buckle down. I have my save the dates but I will write them out when we get back from Florida. We also need to send in our check for our food tasting which is in March,go look at invitations and get passports. We blocked the rooms and got our suite. We know what cake palce we want but I am still on edge about my colors so I think the cake I wanted may be out. Do i get linens or are teh ones at the venue fine? Do teh bridesmaid like the dresses that I picked out or should I go look again? ugghhh It really is little things that are stressful!
