Letter instead of people cake topper?

I kinda like this idea but I don't want it to seem weird by not using the traditional "bride and groom" topper.

    My brother and SIL did this and my aunt and uncle had "I DO" on top of theirs.  I think it can be cute if it is on the right cake!

    I've seen a lot of non-traditional cake toppers at the weddings I've been to recently. I saw one that was done with the same flowers used in the bouqets...it was really pretty. I say go for it!!

    Actually, now that I'm sitting here thinking about it, the last wedding I was at where they did use the bride and groom cake topper was about 6 years ago...people are definitely getting away from using them, in my experience.

    Go for it!!!  Wedding cake toppers have REALLY branched out (just do a search on Etsy to see all of the fun options :P)

    I'm not going to lie... I kind of want a sloth cake topper haha

    I agree. I love etsy and it will give you some great ideas. I am planning on either just using flowers as a cake topper or there are these cute birds on etsy and that have a little veil and bow tie. They are so dang cute, i just love them.

    My best friend had a letter cake topper and it looked very nice. We will probably go with letters if we have a cake topper at all. I just looked through my Pinterest wedding cake board and noticed that none of the cakes I pinned have a topper! I don't think FI cares one way or the other about the topper. He just wants the cake to taste yummy.

    Do what you want! I found a topper in a magazine that has the groom sitting in front of a TV with an XBox 360 controller. The TV says Game Over, and the bride is standing nearby waiting for him to get off the game. It fits me and FI well, and I think it's hilarious. :)
