After much arguing with my FMIL, I finally got her to agree on my location for rehearsal dinner, and we booked it this weekend :)

    Thanks! I was like a never ending battle with her. She was more worried about impressing all of my fiance's family than making it convinient and fun for people.

    When I read this, I somehow thought you were the one wanting something more formal, not your FMIL. No reflection on you, mere projection. This is my worry with my FMIL. I think she and FFIL would be more likely to want something more casual, while I'd like a formal Chinese banquette. I'm not Chinese, but the food is so good, and I've been to 2 weddings like this before and they were great. But they can be exspensive. Like 3x as exspensive as the wedding will be per head, even though it would be a LOT less people. We haven't gotten to that point yet, but I hope it's not as much of a battle as it sounds like yours was. Congratulations!
