Well, it's about time

Finally, I got my first call-out via PM.  I feel like I've left the minors and have moved up into the majors!

*Grumbles* I never get call outs.  Obviously I'm doing it wrong.

    Ooh, please share!

Was it on E? I can't ever remember a time when you were even close to being mean to anyone.

I try hard to be mean to newbs and I've never gotten a mean PM. What am I doing wrong!?

ETA: I feel the need to say that the above is in sarcasm font.

I swear they just  randomly choose anyone in a thread to call out. Mica got one the other day too and she is never mean.

    I think C&P'ing it is a must.

I have never gotten one either.  However I have gotten one thanking me for being so nice, which I thought was funny.

I've gotten one thanking me for being nice but that's all. How boring.
  • Options
I've gotten the "thanks for being so nice" ones too...one was even when I thought I was being semi-snarky. I guess I'm just not good at being mean.

It all started with this thread --

She is only going to provide 10 seats for a wedding in the park and expects the rest of the guests to sit on blankets.  I have horrid allergies to grass, and I could only imagine that some of her guests would as well.

She then jumped in to defend a cash grab --

Yep, I brought up the blanket thing because it only went to prove that someone who is insensitive enough to the comfort of her guests would also expect them to come with fistfuls of cash.

I was called judgy in her PM to me, but if it's judgmental to point out someone is being rude, I'll wear the tag proudly.

I got one not too long ago from someone on the photo board that was soliciting votes for free photography.  All I said was "This is against TK TOS, you've been reported.  Please don't solicit votes from brides who all found a way to pay for their own photographers"  and I got like a freaking novel about how "it must be so great on my high horse to look down on people who can't afford a nice wedding" and "You're such a bitch that you can't take 2 seconds to vote for someone less fortunate than you" etc etc etc.  It was actually pretty funny, especially because it wasn't an instance where I was actually being snarky.

I don't get PMs ever. I did get one from one girl who said she loved my e-ring and had one just like it. I don't know how she saw my e-ring. My bio hasn't been in my sig for a really long time.

Jem-- That is kinda pathetic how upset they got over it. Especially because 97% of any board says the same thing to them every time.

Sometimes I check my PMs and see really weird ones that are a few months old so I ignore them. They weird me out unless I'm paged.

Imp, that is so dumb. That girl has some serious issues as does some of those people in that outdoor weddings threads. My favorite one was "SENSE WHEN IS A WEDDING ABOUT IMPRESSING THE GUESTS??!?!?@?#" Some people are just so dang special.

That was a really annoying post.  I offered her a logical suggestion (i.e. asking the venue if she could rent or bring her own chairs), but clearly she had already made up her mind and was looking for affirmation of her horrible idea.<div>
</div><div>Sorry you got a meany PM...I thought everyone on that post was being honest and logical</div>

Heh. I've gotten one, from someone on TB Baby names board. I probably deserved it (similar to last week's discussion about Saoirse that I got flamed here for) but she really flipped her shiit on me. I found it kind of funny.

I have sent PMs to people thanking them for being nice or apologizing if I think I've been wrong about something.

[QUOTE]Imp -- I saw that thread on OW. That may have been one of the worst ideas ever. Because sitting on the ground in fancy attire is totally awesome.

Oddly enough, a family friend was invited to her nieces wedding, which was 4 hours away and the invite said to "bring your own blanket and water bottle" and that 1 cupcake would be provided for each guests as a thank you for coming. O_O
