"Adult Reception" on website?

I know that we should not have "adult reception" on the invite and RSVP and I know to only address those invited, but is it ok to have "adult reception" on our website? I want guests to know without us having to call them when they assume their children are also invited.

Re: "Adult Reception" on website?

  • Yes, it is totally fine to put that on the website.

I put it on our website on a few pages that were relevant and appropriate to put info such as  reception info and guest info.  And yet, I already got a question from one of my friends if her 15-month old son was invited to our wedding.  Unfortunately, not everyone gets the point.

  • I would be as up-front about it as possible, just so no one can claim they "didn't know".  Include it on the website, spread it by word of mouth, etc.

Unfortunately, some people will be pissed off that their precious little ones aren't invited.  I'm running into this myself.  I'm having an evening reception at a BAR and people still think it's appropriate to bring their children.  Stick to your guns, be direct, and just understand that some people will be upset.

  • I wouldn't put 'adult reception' on the website.

BUT, you can go about it in a different way such as in an FAQ.

"For our friends or family members with children, please call 123-4567 if you'd like recommendations for baby sitters."
