Night before the wedding poll

Did you do the traditional separation, or did you continue on like normal and sleep in the same place?

I stayed in a hotel with my MOH, but it was more to help her with the cost of it because the other friend she was sharing with wasnt getting there till the next day.
  • I slept at my parents place; strictly because that's where I was getting ready in the morning and where my hair salon is (we live about an hour away from it) so for pure laziness reasons, I stayed with them and Jay stayed in Niagara at a hotel with his brother.

Car travel around here is rah tarded in the summer, so it made the most sense.

Same place. We weren't going to buy an extra room at the hotel just so we could have separate rooms.

  • We stayed in the same hotel room.  It was wonderful.  We woke up, had breakfast, squeed that we were getting married in XX amount of hours and proceeded to get ready.  He left before I got into my dress though.

    Understatement.
  • FI's parents will be in town, so they won't approve of us sleeping together even the night before. *rolling eyes* my sisters will be staying in my apartment with me, and I'm not sure where FI will be staying yet, probably with some of his groomsmen.

  • We separated, kind of spur of the moment though.  H's friends were all in town and wanted to have a boys night after the groom's dinner so he just stayed in the hotel with them.  I didn't mind one bit, we did see each other right away the next morning though because we had rehearsal.

  • I'll be staying at the hotel with my mom just because it's important to her for us to be together.   Whatever.  I actually hope our Best Man can stay at the house with FI because I know he'll be nervous and I feel bad leaving him all alone, haha.

  • Damnit, I spelled separate wrong in the poll.  I hate that word.

Anyway, we're staying in the hotel room together, same reason as Salt.

  • I don't really care about the tradition, but I had to book our hotel suite for two nights. I'm getting ready at the hotel, starting early the morning of the wedding. So I'll just sleep there. My mom will be in the same hotel. FI also mentioned that "traditionally" we have to sleep apart. I told him he could stay at home because someone has to feed the cats! Plus, it will only take him 30 minutes to get ready, including shower.

  • We'll be separated as our parents think it's disrespectful to sleep in the same bed at their homes.  Whatever.  Another story for another day.

My MOH is also staying at my parent's house with me so that should be cool.

  • Originally I was going to make him stay at his dad's house, but because of the drama we had about not knowing if the best man would show up for the wedding, I was really stressed out and wanted him to stay at our apartment with me. So that's what we did.

  • We stayed in separate locations at the venue.  I would have stayed together but he wanted to be more 'traditional.'
  • FI will be staying at his brother's place the night before.  Bro is the BM anyways and will need to help FI get ready.  He's black tie challenged, and little bro is Mr. GQ. lol
    Anniversary
  • We're doing the usual, which for us, is separate places. FI is moving the last of his things into my house 3 days before the wedding, and he'll crash with a friend that night. The two nights before the wedding, he is staying at the hotel with his brother.

Ditto Salt. Vegas rooms, while not too expensive, still cost quite a bit. I didn't want to move all my crap into another room, and then back after the wedding. Too hectic.

  • We will probably be staying at different places, however that could change as it gets closer.  We haven't really talked about this yet.

  • I stayed at a hotel with all of my out of town guests and BM's, but I needed to do things on that side of town anyhow in the early morning for the reception, so it made sense.  T stayed at home.

Oh for sure, I'm going to pick up my new car in St Catharines on Saturday and they want me there at 9am. I'm so not getting up before six so I can be on the road by twenty to seven on a Saturday thanks. Goodness.

  • I stayed in the hotel room with my mom and sisters (my BM's had rooms with their S/O's in the same hotel-- we did hair in my room at 7am- ceremony was at 2).

My H stayed at our apartment, but was so antsy the next day, he got to the church at like 10am, when they didn't have to be there until 12 or so.

My H was in my hotel room until about 11 the night before, and he called me when he got up, so we weren't totally isolated from each other.
  • My MOH will stay at the house with me, FI will stay at the hotel with his family.

  • We had the ceremony and reception at a cabin about an hour from our house. DH and I stayed there the night before while our family stayed at a nearby hotel. We didn't see the point in being separate, we don't like sleeping alone and wanted to be together.

We were together the entire morning of the wedding (which started at 1). We didn't separate until 11, when I went upstairs to do my hair and makeup. He was across the hall getting ready, and it was so hard not to peek because I really wanted to see him all dressed up. But after 11 we didn't see each other until I was walking down the aisle.
  • So why is car travel so bad in the summertime in Canada?  Sounds like it really sucks.
