I am here!
Ladies, life has been incredibly busy. We closed on the house in June AND I started a new job then, AND I accepted a position on a local non-profit board, AND we got a puppy, AND we GOT ENGAGED!
It's been like my life was hooked up to a nitrous bottle. SHEW!
OK--
House is great, we haven't done much else to it. Job is amazing. It keeps me so busy. I have never felt so fulfilled in a position. I've never felt so valued, and been so confident in my work. I was really scared about the transition, and the first few months were extremely hard, but I love it now.
Our puppy is Bach Von (Insert FI's last name)...tee hee.
He's a German Shepherd, about 11 weeks old now.
AND.....dun dun dun....
The story:
Thursday night we were getting ready to go eat sushi. I'm upstairs getting ready, and then-BF(politely) yells for me to come downstairs. When I get down there, the lights are dim, and I see two candles lit. He says "Look at this!" (Almost inquisitively, like something he had just discovered.) I look at the counter, and around the two candles are a few pictures. The first one says "Where we Met" and is a picture of the bar where we met. The second says "Our first Date", then there's a few that say "Memorable Moments". And one that says "Our New Home" .
..and there's a note.
It said "DO NOT TURN AROUND UNTIL YOU FINISH READING THIS!" The note was adorable, he poured his heart out. I READ THE ENTIRE NOTE! I was really proud of myself...lol. At the end, the note said "Ok, you can turn around now."
.... and he was on one knee.

And he asked me to marry him, and of course, I said yes.
Funniest part...he'd had the ring for three months. He couldn't ask sooner, because he couldn't catch my Dad and didn't want to ask for his blessing over the phone. He just got to talk to my dad last Saturday.
I miss you all. I'll try to stop in more. Between work, volunteer work, working on the house, and (honestly) taking a little time away to focus on now-FI, I just haven't had the time.
