Flower girl delma

Im getting married next year and really want my niece to be in the wedding. She will be 13 yrs old, if I have her as a junior bridesmaid is ok to not have a juionr groomsman? is is ok for her to walk by herself? I would really like her to be the flower girl because I really dont have anyone close to be the flower girl but im scared that she is too old? What do I do?

I think it's ok to have her walk by herself, but 13 seems too old to be a flower girl. I would make her a Jr. Bridesmaid and find someone else to be the flower girl.

  • You know you're not required to have a flower girl, right? You don't need to ask some random kid to do it, just so you can have one. Children aren't wedding props. And yes, 13 is way too old to be a flower girl. And she you don't have to add a junior groomsmen. Uneven sides are totally fine.

  • 13 is too old for a FG.

If you're not paticularly close to her, skip her being a jr BM and skip the FG for sure.

Uneven sides are fine, so don't worry about having a jr GM.

  • Well, she could still be the flower girl if she wants to, but I don't think many 13-year-olds would.  I also think that the "junior" title is kind of silly.  She'll be doing the same thing as the other bridesmaids: walking down the aisle, standing respectfully, and smiling for pictures.  I would just call her a bridesmaid.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I have 2 tween nieces.  They are going to be Jr.BMs.  They will walk together.  I decided against escorts for them because one option was my FI fellow Sailors who would be older than them or forcing my nephews into the WP and I have no desire to force anyone  to be in my wedding.

  • I agree that 13 is too old be a flower girl. Having a Jr. BM is fine too. You don't need a FG or even sides. I have Jr GM and no Jr BM.
