With just a little over 2 months away from the wedding, I am starting to freak out about (stupid) things. I am worried about the favors; I think that we should give our guests something, even if it is something small, just to show that we thought of them. My FI thinks it is a waste of money and the food that we bought for them is enough. I am having trouble because anything that I come up with he hates, and if it costs over $50 for everyone he says it’s a waste.
Originally, I wanted to do shot glasses with our names and date on it. But, this is a wedding not a raging party, and also my FI and I don’t even drink that much so it might seem kind of out of place. And I know that some people do not care for anything personalized with our information on it!
Then, I really wanted to do a candy buffet, and I thought he would love it. But when I showed it to him, he said it would cost too much and take up too much space. With the cost of the jars, candy, scoops, and bags, it does come out to be a little pricier than I expected.
Now, I really want to do votive candle holders with our guests names hand painted on them. I can get a great deal online for the glass and candles and the glass paint is really cheap. My friend had wine glasses with the guests initials etched in and it was a really cute idea. FI thinks that the DIY won’t work out and we will have wasted out money. But I am very handy and crafty, if I can remodel my bathroom by myself, I can write some damn names on a glass. I also don’t know if I will have a candle in the holder or maybe fill it with candy.
I am just so torn, should I do nothing and my guest’s won’t mind, should I do something that takes a lot of time and some guests won’t even take them, or should I just do some simple candy wrapped in tulle or something like that??
Sorry for being so whiny, it just feels so much better once it is all out J
