ice sculpture

ladies,
i know it pertains mostly to the budged but what are your opponions on ice sculptures? Love them? hate them? personalized? something general?

Personally I think they feel a little dated. Maybe it would depend on what the sculpture was of though?

If you are having seafood, like shrimp or prawns, then it would be cool if they were arranged in a sea shell shaped sculpture, other than that though, I agree with aragx6 that ice sculptures are a bit dated.

My first memory of an ice sculpture at a wedding is from my cousin's wedding in 1989. Unless it's a super cool, ultra modern scultpture, I would skip it.

MY DD & FI are having an ice sculpture - it's gift from her FILs... not sure what it will be and I agree unless it is one of the super cool kind you see at bridal shows (we saw one that was the whole bar!) or has seafood around it, it seems a little dated and odd. I feel like people will say "That was a great wedding but what was up with that ice sculpture?"

We had 3. Only because they came with our package. 1 was part of the raw bar, one was part of the vodka/ cavier station and the other was a traditional one. I would not have paid extra for them.

Unfort, my venue provides one. i am going to opt to keep it. However, i do find them outdated.

You remember one from your high school years. This means that they give a wow factor that last a very long time. I bet you can't remember the food served that night.
