how come when I put in a budget of $18,000 it says total cost of wedding $10,350? and thats with nothing being purcharsed yet?? but it the area of amount left to spend it still says $18,000?? please help me

    I went to it and entered $18,000 and the amount left to spend is still $18,000. The reason it said $10K total cost (those are average/estimates) and below are more categories you can choose.

    The budgeter tool breaks down your budget based on common percentages of what things "normally" cost.  It gives you an idea of what you should aim to spend in each area, in order to stay within your budget.  You can then move money around based on what is/is not important to you or and deals that you find.

    FWIW - I prefered the budgeter tool on www.weddingwire.com to theknot's
