2.) Cake!!!! Looking for a good bekery that will make cupcakes and a small cake for cutting at my reception. Any reccomendations are so appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Rachel -

I'm not sure if this helps but there's a place near my house in Fountain Valley called Wholesale Flowers.  They're located in an industrial area and the lady there is pretty helpful - I haven't asked her about wedding flowers yet as I'm still looking for a venue but they had really great deals on roses for V-Day.  I don't think they have a website but here's their info via yelp http://www.yelp.com/biz/wholesale-flower-place-fountain-valley

I'm planning on having cupcakes also because the cost of a traditional cake is pohibitive.  The girl that my company uses for our corporate events makes some killer cupcakes and I'm planning on using her for our reception.  Her info is on http://www.facebook.com/iheartsweets

    Hopefully that helps...

PS.  Do you know any good venues? LOL...
  • Thanks utica2 I'll check out Wholesale Flowers. I was just lurking the posts and I'm still in need of a florist. :)

What are you looking for in terms of a venue?

Hi Wcasar - good luck on the florist and let me know if the prices are good as I'll be needing a florist too!

In terms of venue, I'm looking for something all inclusive or price effective.  My budget is around $9,000-$12,000 (I know it's small) for a 80-100 guests.   What do you think?  I'm I totally screwed?
  • For flowers, check out Designs by Marina in Anaheim (no website, just uses word of mouth and yet is still busy!) or Cindy Babuscio, http://bohemianrosegardenart.com/ Cindy works from home, so her costs tend to be lower because she doesn't have the same overhead. I would've hired her except she wasn't available for my date :P

Utica, you're not totally screwed on venue.  Check out Country Garden Caterers in Santa Ana, El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano, or Courtside Restaurant at the Rancho San Clemete Tennis Club. There's also the Humble Abode listed on TK's main vendor page, but we didn't look there as it was too small for our guest list...
  • If you're willing to drive a bit, check out Floral Sensations in Riverside.  Website does not do them justice....Robert is amazing and his prices are fantastic.  Worth a call if you're on a budget.

  • Utica2. You can find venue on that budget. We are having 80 people and our food cost $8500 with cocktail hour, paid alcohol and cake included in a pachage.
We are having upgrated menu, so if you don't care that much about food, it will cost you even less
  • thanks everyone! Cant wait to check them out:)
