Hostesses

What are you doing to differentiate your hostesses? I wanted to find some really cute and cheap hostesses pins that were like rhinestones and stuff but idk if thats possible at this point in the game...

    I think I saw some at Micheal's. I was thinking about getting them corsages but the pins is a good ideal

    The 4 of them will be wearing the same corsages but I might have to totally steal the pin idea.

    My hostesses will be in white summer dresses. From the few weddings I went to and participated in, the hostesses aren't apart of the wedding party. They don't sit at the head table, so they don't have to have the same color. Although i think they should still cordinate. Our colors are aqua and white. So I decided to have them in white instead of aqua like the BMs.

    Maybe I should have done the same things... my girls are going to be wearing purple like the BMs...but I can't find these pins that I feel like I have seen before anywhere! I might just have to go with the corsage thing but idk...

    Ok, I know I'm about to sound really dumb right now, but what exactly does a hostess do?  I hear people talk about them all of the time but have no clue what their responsibilities include.  Are they just a female usher???

    Our hostesses are wearing black dresses.  We aren't giving them corsages or anything to really differentiate them.  They will be at the front entrance greeting guests and asking them to sign the guest book and write down their wish/prayer for FI and I.  Another hostess will pass out programs inside of the venue and the other will help during the reception - she'll stand by the seating chart and help people find their names/tables.

    Exactly, so they really don't have to wear the same colors. I didn't go with black though, thought that was kinda a sad color.

    My hostesses work black summer dresses with silver heels/ sandals.

    As a pp said above, they greet the guests, inform them of the guest book, gift table, point guests in the direction of the ceremony location, and seating for the reception. I also had my hostesses making sure everything was decorated correctly.

    Do you need hostesses if you have a day of coordinator?

    Yes you do stil need them so they can help the guest with signing the guest book or to help with drinks during cocktail hr and etc. I only have 2, but it states that you should have one host/ess per 50 guests.

    I'm having of DOC and still have 3 hostesses. I'm mostly using them to greet people at the front door, pass out programs, and make sure guest are seated at the correct table. I need my DOC to make sure things are as I wanted them and that all my vendors are in thr right place at the right time.
