Not Engaged Yet

Gifts continued

I had posted this as an update in my last thread but since it died over the weekend I am starting a new one.

I was talking to J on skype about what to get him for his birthday I am horrible at picking gifts so I like getting his input on ideas. All of a sudden he sends me this post

Yes he is a geek and collects old video games and consoles no I am not buying him a 19K game.

So now I am curious who on this board knows him or if it is the weirdest coincidence ever. So I send him a message back saying I'm confused I was talking about birthday gifts and why would I be buying him an engagement present.

And then he says oh I guess I am terrible at keeping secrets. So I ask what he means because I am really confused at this point (did he buy the ring?) and he says that he isn't putting a date on it but for it not to come as a surprise when he proposes. I am all smiles right now.

Oh and I finally figured out the birthday gift. I am getting him a SNES.

Re: Gifts continued

  • I'm sorry, I don't understand this post at all. What's the question?
  • No question just an update about what happened since my last post when I asked what the knottie's on here thought about getting their FI's engagement gifts. Sorry if the post is confusing.

That's great. But the whole bolded part isn't worth thinking about because it will drive you crazy.

<div>I know, I was just sooo excited I just had to share it with somebody and I knew you ladies would understand best. The day it happens I will be sure to let everyone know but it will happen when it happens. Until then I will be focusing on our current relationship not waiting impatiently for the future one. </div>
  • I still have a regular Nintendo at my parents' house from 1988 or '89. I think it was last played in 2003 when someone got me Super Mario Bros 2. We have an Atari 2600 if you want to get really old school.
