Any one NOT going on a honeymoon?

My wedding is almost 6 months away now and though we've briefly talked about maybe going to Ireland for ours, recently I'm thinking of not going at all.

There are a lot of factors - new house, new job, general cost of the vacation, etc that are playing into my decision.

I love to travel and (of course) I love to spend time getting away with the hubby to be, but I guess my reasoning is I'd rather have the money to spend on the house, or to have in our nest egg for any unforseen events that might pop up.

Any one else skip out on a honeymoon? Do you regret it now?

We didn't do one.  We are going this year (a year later).  It was so hard to do it last year with money and timing.  We just had a little vacation the month after, which was bc DH's cousin got married the next month in the OBX, so we spent time down there for their wedding.
I'm excited to go this year.  We're still calling it our HM.  It''s nice not to have all the wedding stress as we plan it.

We're planning to do ours 6 months after the wedding. Whenever you get more comfortable with spending the money, taking the time, etc, your honeymoon will be there waiting for you.

We bought out house over a year before the wedding, so we were able to budget more easily for a HM. A lot of couples choose to delay theirs, and I think it makes sense to if it means you'll be able to do things like buy a house. Personally though, I know I am going to need something for after the wedding. I can't imagine having the highly anticipated big day and then the next day just going back to normal life. If it were me, I would still take a little trip, even if it were just to Cape May or something for a few days.

We haven't gone on a honeymoon.

It was really important to us to buy a house now while the interest rates were still low.  We just couldn't justify dropping thousands of dollars to go on vacation, when that money could go towards a house.

Our reasoning-- interest rates won't stay this low forever.  That tropical island isn't going anywhere.

Sometimes I get a little bummed that we didn't go.  I have a bunch of friends getting married this year and they are now all in the honeymooon planning stage.   Buuuuut, at the same time, they are crammed into little apartments and I'm getting ready to move into a beautiful house.  Plus, we'll probably use our tax refund we get for being homeowners to go on a honeymoon next year :)

We are not going to go on our HM right away! I am a teacher and we are getting married in September so there is no way I would be able to take the time off.  We decided to take a few days when I had off to go to an island and get away and then do Europe the following summer for a couple weeks.
