Cake Stand

i don't know why I'm having such a hard time finding one.  We are getting married at Meadowbrook and the wedding planner is no help finding one for me to rent at meadowbrook.  They don't have them available at Meadowbrook.  The cake is from Holiday market and they don't have wedding stands...........all the bakeries I call will only rent me one if I buy my cake from them.  I didn't really want to spend $100 for a cake stand.  And finding a place to rent one in the Rochester area seems impossible.  What would you do?  Should I just buy one so I don't have the trouble returning it the next day if it's rented......

Look on the Wedding Classifieds Board and see if someone is selling one. Or just buy one and re-sell it after your wedding.

Or if you know someone crafty, you can have them make you one.  Do you have a wedding theme or themed-location?  I'm not in your area so I have no idea what "Holiday" or "Meadowbrook" are.

For example, if you're having a winery wedding, you can buy a half-barrel planter, turn it upside down, attach the barrel lid to it as a "tabletop," and display your cake.

I got mine today for $22 (50% off coupon) at Michaels. They sell 1 stand with scroll and votive candle holders that I love, Michaels and Joanns sells tiered, 3 cake stand, and many other versions. They cost normally $40-$80ish depending on size. They are by Wilton.
