Re: Newly engaged!!! Need to book an affordable wedding venue

  • I am not sure of prices but look at Michael Anthony's in Jersey city or Liberty house in Jersey city. Good luck!
  • Hi,
I am also newly engaged and it looks like we have a similar budget in mind. I just made an appointment with the Bethwood in Totowa. If you look on their website they have options with pricing. We are interested in the Standard Wedding package for $69.95 pp. We want our wedding to be on 9/28/2013 and for a Saturday evening fall wedding I don't think the price could be much better. They also have a flat fee of $500 for a ceremony and they can do either an outdoor or indoor ceremony. If anyone has any experience with the Bethwood either negative or positive please let me know. I hope this helps, good luck and congrats!
  • Check the Hyatt in Jersey City before you check the Liberty House! I checked out the LIberty House and they wanted about $175pp for a Friday night and I heard their food isn't the greatest for a wedding.
My sister got married at the Hyatt and it was wonderful! The food was great, great views and the price was better!
  • Thanks All,

MariHey congrats to you as well!!! I will be going in person to check out wedding venues ill let you know what I find :)
  • Try Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange. I believe they are in that price range and have great city views.

I think Liberty House is higher than that though.

  • Yes - second the Highlawn.  The price is in your range and they were very open to negotiation.

    </div><div>I also just noticed - October 6, 2013 is a Sunday - not a Saturday.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, consider a Saturday afternoon rather than a Saturday afternoon if you have not already. Prices are generally less expensive during the afternoon.

  • Just was in a wedding at Il Villaggio in Carlstadt, and it was fantastic.  When the limo pulled up there were people waiting outside to direct us with microphones in their ears, and they were at our beck and call all night. It was great...the food was delish, and the room for our private cocktail hour was gigantic and conisted of 2 rooms, one with a balcony overlooking the ballroom.  The bathroom was immaculate and even had a shower in it.  The ballroom had a floor level stage where the dj set up...plenty of room for a band, and it was nice because it didn't take up any dance floor space...highly recommended! • My wedding is at The Liberty House and we were able to negotiate with them to $150pp. We had our food tasting and I thought the food was fantastic. The cake is included in the price and comes from Carlos' Bakery in Hoboken. The view is also breath-taking.

  • We just had our wedding at Farmstead Golf and Country Club in Lafayette, it is definitely within your budget.  The outside grounds are beautiful, and we really had a good experience there.  It is in Sussex County, so I don't know if that's too far north for you.

  • I'd suggest the Greycliff, because it's well within your price range and the food is amazing, but we're having our reception there on 8/10/13 in the room for your size wedding! ;) If you decide to go with 10/6/13, DEFINITELY check it out.

  • Just booked my wedding with a similair issue.  I found The Elan in Lodi to be fantastic.
  • Seasons came to $110/person including tax/tip but that was for a Friday or Sunday in 2013. You should call them. They are related to the Venetian and they had a huge menu!

  • Tides Estate, The Manor, Atrium also all fall into your price range

  • Try the Landmark or The Newark Club...attented weddings at both and both have spectacular views. Not sure of the price though! Good luck!
