Friday Accountability

I'm feeling a little frustrated. I weighed in this morning because I won't be home tomorrow to do so and I'm exactly the same as I was last week. While I guess it's good that I didn't gain, I worked really freaking hard this week: I went to the gym, I tracked every single thing I ate, I barely used my weekly points, I haven't drank since NYE. I'm honestly considering bringing my scale with me to my parents so I can try again tomorrow.

I'm also trying to keep in mind that when I went to the WW meetings, they always pushed people not to look at the week-to-week changes, but to look at the changes over 4 weeks. Still, it's frustrating.

B: 2 hard-boiled eggs (4), non-fat Greek yogurt (2)
S: Sliced apple with 1 wedge of LC blue cheese (1)
L: Lean Cuisine Chicken with Peanut Sauce (7)
S: Watermelon
D: Leftover chicken taco (5)

Total: 19 -- I will probably throw some cheese on my taco to use up a few more points

E: None

Edited: Change of plans. Having leftovers for dinner and no time to hit the gym. I'm packing my workout clothes and taking them with me this weekend though.

RDR-that sucks, I hate when that happens.  You're good all week and the scale doesn't budge.  Maybe it's hormonal???  I know when it's TOM for me my weight is crazy.  I get to the point where I don't want to weigh myself if it's TOM.  Do not bring your scale to your parents tomorrow!  Just try weighing again next week and see what happens!!!  You can do it!

B-Maple brown sugar oatmeal (4) cream cheese (2) lo carb monster (1)
S-Reese's pieces yogurt (5) fruit cup with cantelopue and pineapples (0)
L-leftover pasta (15) Salad with rasberry vinagarette dressing (0)
    S-Banana (0) hummus and chips (7)
    D-Buffalo Chicken bites (12)

    E-Zumba for an hour

Already going over my daily points ughhhhh

    ETA-updated points

  • rdr - I get it!  I feel the same way...  I exercised 5 days out of the last 6 and stayed under my calories the whole time.  but, I really splurged last Friday night on chips/salsa, Mexican food, and gelato, so maybe I was working against that.  I did have a small loss, so I'm glad for that.  tonight I might go over my total by 250 cals or so, but that's okay because I'm planning for it and I don't intend to splurge like crazy.

    B:  2 eggs, toast, 1/2 TBS grape jelly (243)
    S:  tangerine (58)
L:  ST sofrito with chicken thigh, 1/2 c. brown rice, apple (317)
S:  cara cara orange, 1 oz Boar's Head sliced turkey and 1/4 oz white cheddar cheese (133)
D:  salad, 2 pcs pizza (no nutritional info available but I'll ask when I'm there if they have any) at Upper Crust (wish it was the same as we had in Boston, but I don't think it is:  http://uppercrust.ehsrg.com/)

E:  the high today is 67 (what?!?!) so I'm going to jog 1.5 miles outside and then walk the dogs for 1.5 miles.  (approx -240?)
  • I'm with buddysmom...  don't bring the scale, just wait until next week.  it's not worth you worrying about it all weekend!  :)

I discovered this morning that BF's scale actually is completely screwed up.  I jumped on and it claims I lost three pounds yesterday.  Which is crazy pants.  Apparently he also gained three pounds in the course of 15 minutes yesterday.  By removing his clothes and drying off.  Undecided

    B: Greek Yogurt
S: Orange (I seriously keep forgetting about it)
    L: Asian chicken noodle salad
    S: Carrots
D: Baked fish with rice chex coating, and sweet potato fries.

E: None tonight.  I'm going for a run in the morning

    ETA: We decided on dinner.

Buddy - I don't get a period so I have no clue if it's related to hormones or not, TBH.

  • B-hot chocolate, oatmeal with raisins
L- green beans, butternut squash and apple soup
D-not sure probably veggie nuggets and some potatoes, carrots and zucchini in olive oil and rosemary
S- wine and pita chips with guacamole

    E- Just Dance work out

  • Per OP, Alcohol bloat can take 7-10 days to rid itself from your body, per what your eating could be why you haven't lost any weight. I see today alone a lot of fruits and cheeses, otherwise what I would call sugars and fat. If you truly want to see results you need to choose lots of proteins and healthy vegetables and less carbs and fats (fruits, dairy, bread, pasta, wheat). And make sure you're drinking enough water. Water retention could also keep the weight the same if you are dehydrated. There is an app to get on certain phones called "Water my Body" It helps you keep yourself hydrated. Hope this helps.

<div>Per her eating plan, those are good choices.  Fruit itself includes a lot of water, and low fat dairy actually boosts your weight loss.  Unless you're a registered dietician and know all of her facts, you should probably not be talking about unhealthy choices when people are following recommended programs.</div>

<div>I'm on WW and fruits are ok to eat as snacks, as long as you're not overdoing it, obviously. 2 pieces of fruit and 2 wedges of low-fat cheese isn't really "a lot", IMO. I realize there is sugar in fruit but you're kind of making me feel like I'm eating a large fry from McDonald's rather than an apple and some watermelon. </div><div>
</div><div>I drink water all day long. I have 1 green tea in the morning, and then nothing but water for the rest of the day/night. </div>

Agree with the above...fruit contains fructose which is a natural sugar, which is broken down differently from the artificial sugars found in processed, packaged foods.  None of this sugar is "added" like it would be if you were to drink fruit juice.  It is a whole food and for an overall plan of healthy eating, it is a good choice.

  • Per my trainer who is a nutritionist/dietician is where I receive all my facts. And per my weight loss results, I speak the plan. I know everyone is different, but if you've been on WW for a while and plateaued, it could be from the plan. I was on WW and kept plateauing at 150. When I finally got on the eat clean high on protein low on carbs plan i dropped down to 126. I am a firm believer that the eat clean plan works.

You know what else I was thinking too with the plateau: changing what you eat.  Your choices are awesome (also, what do you put in your turkey burgers?  Every time I see your accountability post I always get hungry for turkey burgers!).  Not like I should preach since I have a long way to lose weight wise but I'll change up main meal routines to keep my body guessing.  One day I'll have oatmeal for breakfast; another day a protein bar.  I change things up too because if I don't I'll get bored and start eating junk.

Don't worry, a week from now you'll drop weight!
