  I just read the follow up post, and at the end they draw a comparison to weddings on former plantations.  WDWWT?  Is having a wedding on a former plantation racist if it doesn't involve the Stars and Bars and/or forced labor?  And if so, does that make the other events there racist as well?  (The plantation referenced in the post was advertising Mother's Day brunch; I clicked over because the description was very similar to Secret Daughter BIL's venue, though it turned out not to be the same place.)

  honestly, i think that's a reach. there isn't a square inch of this country that isn't soaked in blood, so trying to find a "cruelty free" venue is really an unreachable goal.
