Chit Chat

Full body RLS?

Is there such a thing? Are my nerves getting the best of me? I haven't been able to sleep well over the past week and have been super tired. I get RLS in my right leg, but the last couple of nights I've felt it up my whole right side (arm and abdomen).

Has anyone experienced anything like this close to your wedding? Mine is coming up soon and not sure if I'm being paranoid and making things up, or if there really is such a thing.

Yes, I can ask my doctor, but being so close to the wedding I figured it wouldn't hurt to see if anyone else has experienced anything else like this.

Lol... Thanks Dr. Linger. I only posted here because it gets the most traffic.

ETA- My doctor is WebMD so according to them, I am dying.

  • Try adjusting your electrolyte consumption. I used to be pretty twitchy and my naturopath recommended increasing potassium, magnesium and calcium, in addition to salt. Nothing crazy, you can just take a supplement or drink some sports drink.

    Good to know.

I have had pain in my right shoulder for over a month now. Hurts pretty much all the tiime. What do you think is the problem? Should I see a doctor?

It's probably a tumor. You should have it amputated.

Stress affects everyone differently. You really need to consult your doctor on this, not us! FWIW, if your wedding is stressing you to the point of causing pain, you're doing it wrong.

  • When I am really tired I get RBS as I call it (restless body syndrome). I have gotten it since I was a kid. It is only when I am really tired and my body is telling me to go to bed now. I have never seen a doctor about it. It has never gotten any worse, always just when I need sleep. I would just try to make sure you get enough sleep. If you are at all worried though go to a doctor!

[QUOTE]Jessa, have you actually been DIAGNOSED with RLS or are you just calling it that based on symptoms, commercials, and WebMD?

Touche. No, I have not been diagnosed by a doctor. Just from what I know of the symptoms, it's a self-diagnosis. I never pursued it with my doctor since it's fairly sporadic.

This is why I don't go on WebMD. Every symptom is followed by death. My equilibrium was off and it told me I had a brain tumor, well that was 10 years ago. I think I'm fine.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re:Full body RLS? : For the record, this is why I, who have actually been diagnosed with this very real neurological disorder, have to be REdiagnosed every damn time I change doctors. Because everyone who has seen a commercial and has a hard time falling asleep one night proclaims they have it. Go to the freaking doctor. Have them test you for nutrient deficiencies, and all the other things that could cause what you're describing (which does NOT really sound like RLS, but I'm not a doctor, so it may be) and try out different things before you start proclaiming to have a very real, very life altering health issue, please.

Well I haven't really described what is actually happening. You're right too. I should get diagnosed before I start thinking that it's "spreading". I know this. I just forget to mention it to my doctor every time I go.
