The Grove only had an issue with its occupancy license being revoked because the town was giving them problems about guests parking on the streets.  Not 1 wedding was canceled. From what I heard the place was millions & millions of dollars to build so I doubt a town ordiance issue will not be resolved.

I believe the fact that not one event was cancelled because they kept on operating even when their COO was pulled.  I would hate to think what their insurance company would of done if a claim needed to be filed during that time for something.

I am writing on behalf of The Grove management, "We have come to a mutual understanding with the town of Cedar Grove, and all parking issues have been resolved."  Thank You.

<div>If they paid millions and millions of dollars, why wouldn't they have thought out the parking situation ahead of time?  From what I remember, construction was a nightmare, so you would have thought this would have been expected.</div>

To Kristen 8040 ...the only reason parking is a nightmare is that the people coming to the event park their cars on the street instead of valet parking. The Grove can't control who parks where.  May I ask where you got married in SOUTH JERSEY that even compares to any venue in North Jersey - bad parking situation or not.

i can't believe all this negativity on the grove from people who have never been to an event there.  i went to a christening there in april 2011 and it was incredible.  i am not from nj and have only been to two other halls there- the rockleigh and the venetian.  this place topped them both by miles.  it wasn't just the quantity of the food, it was the quality.  it didn't feel like churned out catering hall food.  everything was fresh and beautfiul looking and definitely geared toward "foodies."  let me qualify my review of the food by saying that the people holding the party were relatives of one of the owners.  so i don't know if this is typical or if they particularly went over the top for that party but the food was amazing.  the space itself is a cross between classically elegant and modern.  ie, the space is elegant and grand but there are modern touches in the fixtures.  i liked it but that's just personal taste.  the exterior is not that pretty- looks like a typical catering hall but most halls look like that unless it's a mansion or a hotel.  anyway, based on my experience there as a guest, i would not hesitate in having an event there.
  • I HAD MY WEDDING AND CEREMONY AT THE GROVE On July 29th 2011. I WOULD have my wedding there again. I do not know anything about parking as half our guests stayed at the Crown Plaza and we had three shuttle buses. I love Nat btw. Our guests are still talking about it. I heard many times it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Our cocktail hour....guests said they wished it was longer than 1 hour. The GROVe had many people attend to me, my groom and our guests. I can go on and on.......I had my dream wedding at The GROVE. Wedding video is on their website.....:)
  • Hi Bride to Be-I am looking to have my wedding at The Grove also and wanted to see who your wedding planner was...we are looking for a wedding planner in the NJ area and it would be great to work with someone who knows the space. Thanks! [QUOTE]I recently booked the Grove for next year, and while yes they like to boast about themselves as an established group of professional in the wedding industry, they have to in order to prove themselves. And honestly, I think the space speaks for itself. I have one of the top wedding planners doing my party, and I chose this place over some beautiful venues in NYC and NJ, including the Venetian. My planner says I am his 4th party there in the next 2 years, and while some kinks need to be worked out, it is going to be the next "it" place for sure. I think you should stick with it, and try to meet with Michael- super nice guy.

[QUOTE]Indeed - I clicked on that guy's links ... he has a domain at <a href="http://www.thegrovephotographer.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.thegrovephotographer.com</a> . Uh-huh. Nice Photoshop job on the homepage. I really don't know why this venue (or people close to it) needs to resort to these antics. If it's to create buzz, that's really not necessary. I drove past it today, and it looks very nice (though, again, it doesn't seem to be bringing anything new to the table). I haven't cracked open a local wedding magazine in a while, but hasn't The Grove been advertising? I could have sworn someone here said there was an ad featuring the sketches in one of them.

</div><div> Hi,</div><div> My nameis Arpi Pap, I own TheGrovePhotographer dot com, I read this post from the begining and I don't see any connection to me besides the fact that I DO help The Grove with photography as much as I can (I have more than 10 000 images even before it was built <a href="http://ppl.ug/Za1BBKmBHCk" rel="nofollow">http://ppl.ug/Za1BBKmBHCk</a> )</div><div> I do hope the site is relevant for whoomever wants to see more of the venue. (I did have some nonrelated wedding photos there, nontheless wedding photography). Also I've made a youtube slideshow that takes you through the whole place, it's missing the outside  grounds as the landscaping wasn't finished yet back then.  I will update the slideshow to show  the old carriage house and the  landscaping. </div><div>I  strongly suggest you visit the place in person, but if you can't and want to see more, I would gladly share my "highlights" selection with you. just email me for a link.</div><div> Other than that, I am hoping that your post and the "<span style="font-size:10.857142448425293px;">Uh-huh" vibe one is getting by reading this, will change your mind, and I can always answer any questions or concerns you might have for me.I can be easily reached if you google my name </span><img style="font-size:11px;" src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><span style="font-size:10.857142448425293px;">(I don't want to spam by mentioning my site again, email, or give  links)</span></div><div><span style="font-size:10.857142448425293px;">   Thank you,</span></div><div><span style="font-size:10.857142448425293px;"> Arpi Pap</span></div><div>

I would call them. I had my
Wedding there on a Monday (of a holiday) and it was a little over $200 including tax and gratuity.

  • I had my wedding at the Grove on July 19, 2014. There aren't enough words to express how truly phenomenal this venue is. From the moment I set foot in this hall I knew this was the place that I was going to get married. The day of my wedding from start to finish was like a dream come true. The venue itself is gorgeous! Every room, bathroom, bridal suite, lobby and outdoor space is like no other hall I've ever seen. The food was phenomenal, my guests can't stop talking about how delicious everything was. The alcoholic beverages were top shelf and kept flowing throughout the night. We had our ceremony outside and it was truly perfect. The space is intimate and beautiful. We had 200 chairs fit perfectly outdoors. A nice touch was the private driver that drove me to the ceremony spot and drove my husband and I after the ceremony. The service was impeccable! Every staff member at the Grove was on point. For example, while we were taking pictures outside my bridal attendant Angela was with me the whole time, holding my veil and dress or giving ice cold water to my family and I. My wedding wouldn't of turned out as wonderful without my banquet manager Jason and maitre 'd Raoul. They made sure everything ran seamless and smoothly throughout the evening. My father in law had broken the heel on his new shoes and Jason gave his shoes to my father in law. I wanted to see the cocktail hour before my guests and both Jason and Raoul made that happen. Every item from my ceremony or reception (unity candle, wine glass, basket, programs, table seating frames, groom's cake, toasting flutes etc.) were retrieved and brought to my dad's car at the end of the night. The top layer of my cake was packed nicely as well and so was the many desserts from the viennese hour. I didn't want the night to end! The only regret I have is that I was so nervous that I hardly ate anything and that the night went by so quickly. I would totally recommend the Grove to anyone looking for a phenomenal place for their occasion.
