    Yeah, you're probably not going to find a lot of good ideas for this, at least on the international boards. Most of the international folks think they're pretty tacky.

    If they're popular in your area, try your local board.

    Yeah.  This kind of question never, ever goes well around here.  Just warning you.

    My advice:  have the wedding you can afford on your own without shaking down your friends and family.

    ...I've never even heard of doing wedding fund raising until I came on here, and seeing the posts is still so weird to me.  I would never even have thought of it
